Posted November 13, 200915 yr dunno if this can go very far, but at last nights pop quiz we was played a marvin gaye track, that has a kind of irony about it... Abraham Martin and John ..... his song about 3 people who were shot, then marvin himself ended up being shot... anyone else think of any other tracks that became ironic?
November 13, 200915 yr Well, the Alanis Morrissette song "Ironic" was kind of ironic because it seemed to me that most of what she was singing about in that song was unfortunate occurrence rather than actual "irony" (how is "rain on your wedding day" actually "ironic" ffs, just a bit of a bugger really  ).... So, a song called "Ironic" written by someone with a pretty fractious grasp of the concept of irony is, well, ironic.......
November 13, 200915 yr Irene Cara singing "Fame...I'm Gonna Live Forever" brings a wry smile to my face.
November 13, 200915 yr Author Doesn't matter if you're balck or white... MJ? Pretty ironic really,,,,
November 13, 200915 yr Doesn't matter if you're black or white... MJ? Pretty ironic really,,,, Indeed.....
November 14, 200915 yr I'd say Gary Glitter's No.2 hit Do You Wanna Touch Me? (Oh Yeah) is rather ironic considering subsequent events!!!
November 17, 200915 yr Some more... Londonbeat - 'I've Been Thinking About You' Funny, nobody has given them a second thought since late 1990. Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine - 'Rubbish' Which was, of course, not rubbish at all but blinkin' great! The Beautiful South - 'One Last Love Song' Those lying gits. They've given us nearly twenty more of their own particular brand of bittersweet love song since then. The Verve - 'The Drugs Don't Work' They do you know...I took a handful of sleeping pills and it saved me having to listen to this tripe...
