So he's working on/finishing off a new solo album [slash & Friends], due for release in Spring 2010, and will feature guest vocals from artists such as David Grohl, Steven Tyler, Ronnie Wood, Ozzy Ozbourne, Iggy Pop and many more.. (.. like Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas for instance :heehee: ) [and according to Wikipedia, also features Meat Loaf, Alice Cooper, Chris Cornell, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, M. Shadows and Nicole Scherzinger  also].

First track to appear is called 'Sahara' which features Koshi Inaba [Japanese Vocalist] . Imo it sounds like something from 'Chinese Democracy'.

And it's B-Side, 'Paradise City' which features Fergie [black Eyed Peas] & Cypress Hill [Formally DVX].

Funnily enough, the album features 4 out of 5 of the original Guns N Roses line-up, guess which one wasn't included.

Good grief.

I can't stand it when female singers when backed with an electric guitar try and do their best rock/vocal impersonation. It just comes across as stupid.

*Listens to 'Paradise City' remix*

And people say AXL is the one dragging the GNR name through the dirt?

Regardless, I'm looking forward to this album. 'Sahara' sounds pretty good, and with guest vocalists like Ozzy, Cornell and Meatloaf, plus 4 out of the 5 members of GNR appearing, it's bound to have at least a few good tracks on it. Particularly looking forward to the track with Izzy - Slash obviously plays his best material when feeding off Izzy's riffs.

this album is immense (from what i've heard.)

Arrr need to download this! And like it's been mentioned, ^ can't wait to hear the tracks with Izzy! Hopefully it's reminscent of good ol' 80's metal.
My faves are from what i've heard are Ghost feat. Ian Astbury and Izzy Stradlin, Crucify the Dead feat. Ozzy Osbourne, Starlight feat. Myles Kennedy, Gotten feat. Adam Levine and Promise feat. Chris Cornell.

I'm interested in hearing what the Ozzy track sounds like, is it up on youtube?

and I'll definately review this when I get my computer working, didn't get round to doing one for Hendrix's new one.

This album is outstanding.

Best track is 'Ghost', the one with Izzy. Dual-guitar perfection, and proof (as if it were needed) that it was Izzy's guitars licks that made GNR, not Slash's.

The album is a treasure. The Fergie collaboration is a treasure. I just wished he done another duet with Rihanna but oh well.

LOVE the Iggy Pop track! Nothing to heavy, and the lyrics are a bit pants, but it's a good fun number. (Y)
