November 29, 200915 yr I've rarely seen an article so obviously fictional as the one posted at the beginning of this debate... People venting their hatred of Mariah Carey through the writing of cheap pieces in the media is certainly nothing new but it is uninspired. Lazy journalism at its best, on a par with people being shockingly nasty about Dannii Minogue simply because she's Kylie's less successful sister. I'm embarassed for all of the usual culprits who genuinely seem to believe that she requested to be surrounded by kittens and doves (?!?!). You only need to watch Mariah's interviews to see that she's a likeable person who positively loves to take the piss out of herself. Perhaps she didn't sue because articles like this only give her more material to work with when she's donning her diva moniker during promotional rounds and showing anybody who'll give her a chance that actually, she's not a big cunt. This is why I hate training to be a journalist at times. If I ever have to take on a job that involves sitting behind the desk and making up quotes from 'sources' I'll jack it all in. I'd rather be unemployed. The only debate to be had here is surely whether anybody who becomes outraged by such a transparent article as this should even be allowed access to a forum intended for intellectual discussion. You've somewhat contradicted yourself there... You complain about the media being false or making false accusations, and yet dont seem to be able to grasp the fact that perhaps Mariah is putting out a false persona to make herself look good in interviews.... I've seen interviews with her, and frankly she comes across as incredibly fake and completely non-genuine.... Like Rob says, she can sue if these reports aren't true.... She'd surely get far more publicity and respect "setting the record straight" than continuing to allow herself to be defamed [/i]or slandered[/i] as you're implying..... -_-
November 29, 200915 yr secondly, this thread ISNT about mariah, its about rich people abusing their wealth when theres millions who could use the money better, the mariah article was the one i used by example, so take the example and not the person in it. I don't think it started off like that, it's only when people started to defend her that you said how it's not about Mariah. Yet before then, it was just "I hate her", "feed her to lions" etc. Great debate guys. It's not really worth arguing in here. My responses only got less than three lines, in lower case, which were quite dismissive between them. If you wanted it to be about rich people abusing wealth, you should have constructed your first post a bit better. It certainly looks like you were just having a dig at Mariah. Like Rob says, she can sue if these reports aren't true.... She'd surely get far more publicity and respect "setting the record straight" than continuing to allow herself to be defamed or slandered as you're implying..... -_- But if she knows it's not true, why would she be bothered about it? I'm sure she's denied this diva behaviour in interviews before and I've seen praise from Phillip Schofield, Alan Carr and Paul O'Grady saying she's a delight to interview. They say she has a big entourage etc. but the woman herself is great. I think only Kate Garraway has recently called her a diva, after her recent GMTV appearance, and Mariah's agent has responded by saying it was a gross exaggeration. But is it really a surprise that she has a huge entourage, you only have to look at the recent Leona Lewis incident. Someone known for being a diva, without the diva attitude, getting hit by a wild fan during a public appearance. I think it could potentially be much worse for Mariah...
November 30, 200915 yr This is a losing battle Aaron. If these lot don't like somebody they'll be happy to believe that she's a bitch in order to have a good old rant. That's the fact of it. This thread is a joke but hey ho.

Oh, please, she's got more "people" around her than bloody Barack Obama or Gordon Broon FFS... It's hardly necessary, and she's hardly as important as either of them.... You can have as many "people" around you as you want, at the end of the day, someone determined enough will always be able to get to you, look what happened to Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell - shot onstage by a crazed lunatic "fan", or Biggie, Tupac Shakur, etc..... So, there's no point in living your life in an ivory tower..... Leona Lewis is grounded in reality and down to earth, I respect her (if not her music very much) as a person because she's free of the bullsh!t that infects other "celebs" like Mariah and Paris Hilton.... You wont exactly see Leona making "demands" for cats or pigeons or, I dunno, bullfrogs, or whatever...... Anyway, I'm not playing any favourites here, I've as much dislike for that Tory tw@t with his moat and the other c/unt with "Duck Island", Sir Fred Goodwin and scummy Tax evaders like Philip Green and Rupert Murdoch as I do for Mariah.... Probaby a lot MORE actually.....
December 1, 200915 yr In your opinion. And a valid one at that too! ;) Edited December 1, 200915 yr by ScottyEm
January 14, 201015 yr On Eminem's comeback album he referred to Mariah as a drunken $l*t. Last week Mariah Carey did this: Jrou5EKY2zk ... It all makes that Joss Stone's career ending BRIT drunken appearance with the mid Atlantic accent seem normal in comparison. Mind you having to use in the same sentence "Mariah Carey" and "great acting performance" would turn most movie critics to drink.
