Posted November 19, 200915 yr Robbie Williams Debuts Atop Euro Chart Billboard http://www.billboard.com/news/robbie-wil....004044360.story British pop perennial Robbie Williams makes a winning return to Billboard's European Albums chart, debuting at No. 1 with "Reality Killed The Video Star" (Virgin/EMI). On European Hot 100 Singles, Black Eyed Peas scores another chart-topper, moving 2-1 with "I Gotta Feeling" (Interscope/Universal). Despite selling a weighty 238,000 copies in the United Kingdom, a huge improvement on the 147,000 start for its 2006 predecessor "Rudebox," Williams' new album is denied top spot there, missing out by just 1,517 units to pop band and "X Factor" graduate JLS' self-titled Epic/Sony Music Entertainment debut. "JLS" is new at No. 8 overall. "Reality Killed The Video Star" does, however, score No. 1 debuts in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Holland, also arriving at No. 2 in Italy and the Czech Republic, No. 3 in Denmark, No. 6 in Norway and Ireland and No. 7 in Portugal. "Rudebox" had three weeks at the pan-European summit three years ago.

November 19, 200915 yr first week sales must be huge in europe.. maybe exceeding 450,000... so he may have shipped 700k to the minimum... known sales (rounded) 270,000 UK 17,000 France (12,000 Australia)
November 20, 200915 yr Author I am delighted to report that RKTVS has debuted at #1 on the Global Album chart. This is his first ever global #1 album so I am delighted. :w00t: :cheer: Mediatraffic are as per usual with acts who are not big in the US, hugely innacurate with sales estimates as it wouldve sold that between UK and Germany alone, but the fact it is #1 is the main thing. Although the sales are only estimates and done by a system that is often totally wrong, going by that system he sold more first week than Madonna's GH album and Michael Bubles recent album - despite both of those acts being big in the US/Canada. :D Edited November 20, 200915 yr by Scotty
November 28, 200915 yr Author Still #1 in European and Bodies is still #2 after 8 weeks :D WILLIAMS KEEPS A HOLD ON EUROPE Contact Music LEONA LEWIS and NORAH JONES have failed to topple ROBBIE WILLIAMS from the top of the European albums chart - the ANGELS hitmaker has scored a second week at number one. Williams secured his chart comeback last week (ends20Nov09) when Reality Killed The Video Star debuted in pole position in Europe, ending Michael Jackson's reign with the soundtrack to his concert documentary This Is It, which stays put in second place. Jazz star Jones is a new entry at three with her latest release The Fall, while Bleeding Love singer Lewis' Echo enters the chart at four. Queen compilation Absolute Greatest rounds out the top five. Meanwhile, there's no change in the European singles chart top three - the Black Eyed Peas sit at number one with I Gotta Feeling in its 21st week on the countdown, ahead of British pop stars Williams and Lewis. Rihanna breaks into the top five with Russian Roulette - the ballad jumps from 39 to five. 27 November 2009 19:05

December 3, 200915 yr Author Some brilliant news :D Despite her selling over 400K in the UK alone, Susan Boyle has failed to knock Rob off the European Billboard Album Chart in his 3rd week at #1 :D :cheer: :smoke: Robbie Williams Holds Boyle At Bay On European Chart Billboard Susan Boyle's powerful arrival was not enough to stop Robbie Williams from recording a third week at the top of Billboard's European Albums chart with "Reality Killed The Video Star" (Virgin/EMI). Williams is down 4-9 in the United Kingdom, but holds at No. 2 in Germany. Its overall sales hold Michael Jackson at No. 2 with "This Is It" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment), which retains top three placings in Italy and the Belgian region of Flanders, falling 2-3 in each.

December 3, 200915 yr Author Oh that is good news :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Do we know how many copies RKTVS has sold worldwide? Only figs so far are from mediatraffic which is unofficial and only estimates. They have him on near 600K for the first 2 weeks. 3rd week estimate not released yet but as their sales are generally estimated far too low for acts outside the US, I suspect the album is on around a million worldwide with at least 1.5 million shipped. We will have to wait for the end of the year official world chart from the IFPI though.
