July 3, 200619 yr Author ahh... now I'm intrigued, thanks for the ulitmate list. Silly me, I should have remembered John Lennon and The Jam, entered the chart at 3 and climbed each week, as I remember John Lennon was previously No.1 with 'Imagine'
July 4, 200619 yr Err No... What about Deep Blue Something in October 1996? My Top 40 Charts 'bible' only covers pre-1995,my error as I didn't check 1996.Well spotted ! ;) :D
July 5, 200619 yr See how they become something of a rarity from 1995 when the charts became uninteresting as well. Perhaps when downloads are counted before a physical release (not just one week before, but from when the dowload is available) the charts may become interesting again.

Perhaps when downloads are counted before a physical release (not just one week before, but from when the dowload is available) the charts may become interesting again. The charts have become more interesting now, since downloads were allowed in a week before a physical release. The entire top 12 of the current chart have all climbed to their peak, and the #1 has continued climbing after the physical single was released.
