Lady Gaga on 63,000. Some 9000 more than the rubbish at #2 (and biggest con of the year). Take away the dvd, and it falls to #8, and didn`t actually make #1!

Thanks Dave

Just got a job in London, so I know Christmas miracles do happen! So how's about Pet Shop Boys top 20 next week, and Olly to win the X Factor :kink:

RATM not Top60

No Muppets

No George Michael even when he is listed #2 on pre-sales

Chuckie/LMFAO not Top10

I reackon those are underestimate.

The top 4 physicals all the proceeds of the singles are donated to charities.
Lol @ Janet Jackson only making top 75  ..even despite the X Factor performance and her brother's death.

Great info as ever much appreciated  , but I have to take umbrage at this quote by yourself:

So a charity record that it well within the OCC chart rules that actually has a quite brilliant video where a lot of effort and creativity has been put into it that makes an excellent stocking filler which donates 64.15% per sale to its designated and very deserving Children In Need charity is a bigger con that an awful cover of an old R.Kelly song made famous by Michael Jackson which paraded children from the Great Ormond Street Hospital on the prime time ITV show to promote the record which donates just 25p per sale to GOSH; Whilst most of the rest helps goes towards filling Simon Cowell's over full pockets which earnt him $157 million in 2008.

Well I think most posters would disagree with your statement.

I can't wait for next week's chart to see how George Michael & the Pet Shop Boys Christmas singles do. I expect to see Robbie Williams and Cheryl Cole receive a significant boost from appearing on ITV prime time over the weekend. Plus the anti-X-Factor RATM campaign in full swing could see an unlikely #2, behind an uninspired cover of some awful Disney dreck bought by 300-500K brain dead zombies.

Got to address it properly...I mean that dvd sales should not count to the singles chart if they can not be played on a CD player. How is a dvd...a record? I do think the singles charts of today are a complete mess. Reflecting the average 12 year old only. Hence the state of Radio One`s Chart Countdown.

Wouldn`t it be just great if it were like the old days of all ages buying singles?

RATM will climb further by Sunday

Obviously no Muppets...no downloads on them yet, not released until next week

George Michael not released until Monday (again)

Chuckie/LMFAO are top ten...If you look properly

to be fair Dave, you can't play a vinyl record on a CD player... the format of delivery doesn't make a single less eligible for the chart. To me, they all count as singles regardless of method of delivery.

You can't play a download in a CD player either! I'd have thought it's a record if it something musical you can listen to.
