...out as a double a-side alongside a duet by Terry Wogan and Aled Jones for Children In Need...

hmm...as one of Sharon's biggest fans I'm lost for words really

shame it will end up 200 places higher in the chart than It's Not A Dream got to :(

I'm horrified and thrilled in equal measure.

On the one hand, it could actually be that Sharon Corr could nab a top 40 hit, who'd have ever thought :o

But dear God, if there was ever any chance that The Corrs could be taken seriously as a musical force ever again, that was the final nail in that coffin.

Just think, this time ten years they were just releasing the wonderful Radio :( How times change.

well her voice sounds strong on the track at least

the less said about the 'song', the better  :(

She has a far better voice than i thought as it was never really put to full use in the Corrs, im not a huge fan of her solo stuff, i just wish the Corrs would get back together and do an album as i love the Corrs as a group but so far am not to keen on their solo efforts.

Well yes her voice is on fine form, but who's really going to pay attention to that when she's singing an ode to a stuffed toy?

I'm also going to say it's quite baffling that Sharon was picked for this - it's a charity record so surely they'd want to go for a bigger seller? I'm assuming Lily Allen and Leona Lewis said no.

 the main draw will be the Wogan/Jones duet on the other a-side, I think Sharon fits in nicely with the Radio 2 listeners that will be the only people that purchase this single...I wonder if Sharon will include this on her solo album?

I do hope not. Seriously.

if it's a hit, she might put it on as a bonus track X Factor style...

but seriously, nobody will be buying the single for Sharon's song, it's not even top 1000 on iTunes and it's been available for weeks...the Wogan/Jones track is in the top 200...I doubt the physical will lift the song very high - top 40 if it's lucky

In the world of Lady GaGa, Chipmunk and John & Edward, I think Sharon's hit potential days are long gone sadly, in fact I was surprised that The Corrs did as well as they did with their Borrowed Heaven era and its singles...they didn't seem to quite fit in to the music scene of 2004 and they are definitely not relevant to the music scene of 2009 - the only way Sharon would get a hit single is if Simon Cowell roped her in to duet with the X Factor winner on their debut single  :(

Oh The Corrs have been completely over as a musical force for YEARS. Solo or together

I think they potentially could still score semi-successful albums (ie top 40), but singles-wise no chance (I was more surprised by Summer Sunshine going top 10 than I was Borrowed Heaven reaching #2). There are a few Radio 2 oldies doing well on the albums, like Rod Stewart, Annie Lennox, Seal etc, so I think if they made a decent stab at it, they could still continue on as an albums act.
