I can't be bothered to rank the performances because to be honest tonight bored me.

 

Much as Joe is the best vocalist on the show, I really can't be arsed to sit and watch his performances because they're dull as, and the same week in, week out. I just can't see him having a long-lasting career, it really will be Gareth Gates The Second Coming.

 

Olly was okay, I really hope he makes the final just because he's the best chance we have of avoiding a 100% ballad final.

Stacey I still want to win, but very much agreed with the judges. 1st performance was meh, 2nd one much better. But as with Joe, I'm fearful for her chances as a recording artist - she can't cope very well with the uptempo stuff, so she will inevitably have to be marketed as another Leona, and her voice isn't AS good as that.

Danyl - I hate to admit it, but Man In The Mirror was kind of good. Couldn't be arsed with his second performance though, and I remain incredibly bored of his minute-long money notes at the end of every single song. He'd even find a way to tack those notes onto The Fast Food Song given the chance.

 

In general, this evening proved to me that this year's crop really aren't up to much. This is very much a Steve/Leon year rather than a Leona/Alexandra/Shayne.

I want that disgusting ape to leave. He should have withdrew when he had the chance. I wish that ape ebola...

Joe-6/10-i found it boring, not that thats gonna stop him getting through

Stacey-6/10-didnt suit her, but she looked FIT! :naughty:

Danyl-7/10-cant believe the judges didnt comment on this being flat at the start, still, it improved as it went along

Olly-7/10- good again, but im not sure he can make it through

Joe-8/10-much better and SLIGHTLY less tedious, but I just dont get him, still, a definate finalist

Stacey-10/10-absolutely stunning, CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE ON XTRA F ARE SAYING JOE WAS BETTER! so corrupt- anyway, she should get through

Danyl-7/10- not bad, but he held this back to much, he is at risk but as he was last, could get through

It's a bit of a tie between Stacey and Joe for me tonight. Joe was consistent, while Stacey had one amazing performance and one average one. When I saw Stacey had been given "Somewhere", I knew she'd give a brilliant performance like that. :wub: Her Michael Jackson song was a bit of a let down, it was okay, but it highlight why she does ballads. It's a bit like getting Norah Jones to do a Britney song. Joe was good on both songs, particularly the first, but he'd be better in a musical. His second song did remind me that I don't play Mariah's version of that though.

 

I'm a bit gutted to see people didn't rate Danyl's first song, it was easily one of my highlights, fun and something quite special I thought. His second song was more of a let down, I think it sounds better by a woman with a voice like Whitney or Leona. He didn't actually oversing it though, didn't notice any wide mouth or long notes in either of his performances.

 

Olly has lost me now, I'm afraid. A bit gutted really, he was always one of my favourites, but now I've had enough of him. The first performance was a bit poor, the second was much better but it was a weird arrangement. I'm thinking he could go.

Oh so true. Cowell really has been a c**t this year with the standing ovation thing - bloody irritating to watch when half the time they're far from deserved.

 

The 1990s dance week - OMG that needs to happen. No doubt though the judges would do the usual thing and water it down a la rock week, so we'd still get "Relight My Fire" as per.

 

To be honest the themes this year have been pants - I don't know why we need Take That week and Michael Jackson week two years in a row - you'd think there was a shortage of back catalogues out there! Personally if we're going to have artist weeks, I'd hope for Madonna, U2 and Cheeky Girls next year.

The main problem I think is most of the themes are stuck in the past - does Big Band week REALLY offer any indication of what sort of an artist the contestants are going to go on to be? I still have no idea what a Danyl record would sound like.

Like I will always judge Purple Rain by Ruth Lorenzo standards I judge Man In The Mirror by Diana Vickers standards, it set the benchmark for me and was probably the 2nd best song of the series for me after Purple Rain and I judged Danyl against Diana and for me while it was ok it just did nothing for me, first 1/3 of the song I could barely hear what he was saying it was like he was eating while singing but it did improve

 

I just find Danyl dull, he does nothing for me, he is not a bad singer in the bad sense but he is not a Seal he is not a Lemar, he is not an Alexander O Neal etc etc he is just an ok singer and thats as far as it goes for me
