Don't normally come in here but got drawn in by this thread. The best vampire film ever still has to be Nosferatu. Shadow of the Vampire which was a fictional portrayal of Max Schreck who played the vampire in that film was also good.

Let the Right One In

Not just the best Vampire film ever made, but one of the best films ever made period. And the whole reason why the book was called 'Let the Right One In' is because it is a reference to the Morrissey song 'Let the Right One Slip In'. The reference is lost with 'Let Me In'. Apparantly the American publishers changed it because they thought the original title was too long.

And just <_< at the American movie remake.

[Rec.] 2 has been released now in Spain, I wonder how long it will be until we get the sequel to Quarantine

The Lost Boys. It' so hilariously bad but is such an iconic film but I think the real winner for me would be Interview With A Vampire. The only time I can tolerate Pitt and Cruise without wanting to burn myself.

I watched "Daybreakers" the other day ... Not bad ! reminded me of "28 days later"

Nosferatu (original)

Dracula (Hammer & Coppola versions)

Near Dark

Fright Night

Shadow of the Vampire

The Addiction (Vampires as drug addicts, really pretty mental)

Let the Right One In

Martin (not exactly a "vampire" film, but more a film about a teenage boy who thinks he's a vampire...)

From Dust til Dawn

The Lost Boys... mainly cos it's pretty hilarious...

Solid list that one. Although I hate Lost Boys and can't bear the performances of Ryder and Reeves in Coppola's version

I would add -

The Hunger

Nosferatu The Vampyre (1979)

Interview With The Vampire

Dracula (Lugosi)

Nadja

30 Days Of Night

Lifeforce

Razorblade Smile (Mainly because a friend directed it)

The Night Stalker

Black Sunday

The Fearless Vampire Killers (AKA Dance Of The Vampires)

Nightwatch

Vampire Hunter D

The Night Stalker

Can't believe I forgot The Night Stalker - loved Karl Kolchak, aka Darren McGavin. Can't decide though if I liked The Night Stalker or The Night Strangler better.

I know I'm probably gonna get blazed for saying this because it has a reputation, but:

TWILIGHT

TWILIGHT

Same here. I love all three movies

Twilight?! That's a shampire series, not vampire..... :o

Best vampire movies? Near Dark, the original Christopher Lee Hammer ones, The Hunger....

Interview with the Vampire

That's one of the worst.. dreadful adaptation from a fabulous series of books... hilariously miscast too.

Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire

Loved The Lost Boys for sheer comedy value, 30 Days of Night was awesome for the action/tension/pure enterainment, but I gotta agree with anyone who has mentioned Let The Right One in as the best - it was only afterwards that the effect of it really began to sink in. On first viewing i was a bit underwhelmed by what seemed like long, drawn out and almost boring 'arty farty' scenes where it seemed to take an age for anything to really happen, but as a whole the movie really leaves a lasting impression.

I'm hoping this upcoming Hollywood remake does the original justice.

These are mine favorite Vampire movies. I saw these movies three or four times and never made me bore.

Is it easy to follow with subtitles? I've never watched a film in a completley different language before, but something is telling me to see this version before I see the American one..

Watching a film with subtitles in a cinema is not a problem. It's more difficult at home because there are more distractions.

Twilight movies are my all time favorite movies.

I actually followed it ridiculously easily, after about 15 minutes I forgot I was reading subs. And it was brilliant!

My fave vamp films -

Twilight

New Moon

Eclipse

Blade Trinity

Underworld

Let The Right One In/Let Me In

Van Helsing

Interview With A Vampire

Queen of the Damned

I need to see the last 2 again, its been ages since I've seen them!
