January 6, 201015 yr Author 030 Tinchy Stryder ft. Amelle - Never Leave You Personal Chart Run: 24-15-12-07-02-{01}-02-08-12-21-26-33-39-40-> 14 The 2nd of my personal chart #01's to feature on my countdown. Stunning summer anthem, Amelle's vocals work perfectly on it as well I think. It's not quite as good as 'Number One' imo but still a pretty great song that was the soundtrack to my Summer. 029 Lily Allen - The Fear Personal Chart Run: 24-15-10-06-04-04-03-{02}-04-05-13-19-20-26-28-33-35-37-> 19 The perfect comeback song from Lily and now probably among my favourite from her! Such a good pop song and a great video to go along with it too, still fresh to this day. 028 Girls Aloud - The Loving Kind Personal Chart Run: 21-08-06-05-{03}-06-08-12-20-21-26-31-36-> 13 After two of their worst songs in 'Can't Speak French' and 'The Promise' they came back with this gem. Shame Cheryl had to ruin it by her p*** poor solo efforts, still this is a fantastic pop song, wonderfully produced and sung and I love the lyrics too. Definetly one of Girls Aloud's most underrated and best songs to date imo! 027 Jordin Sparks - S.O.S. (Let The Music Play) Personal Chart Run: 17-09-06-{04}-07-09-16-23-28-34-38-39-> 12 Probably one of my favourites from Jordin behind 'Battlefield' and 'No Air' which are both classics now imo. Such a good dancey song and it was good to see Jordin do something a bit different from once too, it deserved to be much bigger than it actually was too imo. 026 Shontelle - T-Shirt Personal Chart Run: 39-25-19-13-12-09-04-{03}-09-10-15-18-25-28-32-34-39-> 17 A song I originally heard from BJSC and had fell in love with instantly. Okay so it might be a little generic but I love it's simplicity and the vulnerability to it as well as it's lyrics/message. I think alot of people can relate to it too, shame she hasn't done better than this since and looks set to be a one hit wonder by the looks of things. Shame. :(
January 7, 201015 yr Author 025 David Guetta ft. Kelly Rowland - When Love Takes Over Personal Chart Run: 23-13-06-03-03-05-{02}-04-08-13-26-31-37-40-> 14 Definetly one of my favourite dance songs of the year. So feel good and anthemic and it was so good to see Kelly Rowland get the spotlight on her for once rather than Beyoncé. Probably my defining song this summer too and I'm guessing for alot of other people as well. 024 Ciara ft. Missy Elliott - Work Personal Chart Run: 17-11-09-04-{03}-04-09-18-25-32-> 10 My chart run for this song really doesn't show how much I love this song! I think it was released at a tough time though maybe? I'm not sure. Such a good anthemic song to dance to and Missy actually brings something to the song for once as well! I love her 'now drop down, everybody in the club drop down' bit. Unfortunately it didn't catch on in the UK and wasn't the big hit it rightly deserved to be! :( 023 Taylor Swift - Love Story Personal Chart Run: 16-05-02-{01}-01-02-05-06-11-17-28-29-34-36-38-> 15 Pretty much the only song I like by Taylor. It's just so cute and catchy, I couldn't help but love it. Although her face does annoy me and her other songs are a little pretentious. I still love this song greatly though, I think it's got heavily mixed opinions on BuzzJack however. 022 Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone Personal Chart Run: 08-07-06-05-{03}-03-10-18-25-30-38-> 12 Like Ciara, the chart run for this doesn't nearly show how much I adore this song. I think it's coz at the time I overplayed it waaay too much, before it was released properly as well, it most likely would've been a #01 for me otherwise. Anyway I adore the lyrics to this song and Kelly's voice on it as well, it's a huge shame it wasn't a hit here given it's far superior to songs like it; Halo in particular. 021 VV Brown - Shark In The Water Personal Chart Run: 02-{01}-04-05-06-13-15-23-29-31-30-35-37-40 For some stupid reason I can only find an 'unplugged' version of this on dailymotion! :( Anyway, I adore her and this song, so summery and feel good and she's just so talented. It's a shame she was overlooked by inferior artists (imo) like La Roux. :( I hope she somehow manages to stick around though, she's amazing.
January 8, 201015 yr Author *Sigh* I'll keep on doing this even if no one does reply ... 020 Lady GaGa - Paparazzi Personal Chart Run: 30-25-21-10-04-03-{01}-02-05-09-15-24-30-36-> 14 Was always one of my favourites from 'The Fame' album. I love the melody and the lyrics and the bizzare yet mesmorising video definetly helped my love for it. Was good to hear a slightly slower song from her as well. Expect to see two other GaGa tracks higher up on my countdown 019 Britney Spears - Circus Personal Chart Run: 28-18-08-{01}-01-02-02-03-05-07-10-12-18-20-27-32-34-38-> 18 My favourite song of hers this era. I might even like it more than 'Womanizer' now I think about it. I think it got severley overlooked in the UK where it should've rightfully been a hit in my opinion. Still, I think it's amazing and was a highlight when I went to see her on tour. I just hope with the next era she can do some promotion ... :( 018 Livvi Franc - Now I'm That Bitch Personal Chart Run: {02}-05-07-11-15-20-25-29-33-32-32-17-16-23-30-36-> 16 Okay so it was the Jason Nevins mix I had fell in love with but I've grown to love the original mix with Pitbull now as well. Such a sassy and fiesty song, I can't quite understand how it only scraped the Top 40 in the UK and flopped elsewhere, it deserved to be huge! Still, I think it's immense and since it didn't get overplayed it remains fresh to this day. 017 Pussycat Dolls - Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny) Personal Chart Run: 15-05-{01}-01-02-07-14-19-23-29-34-37-39-> 13 I know some people prefer the original but this is so infectious and feel good. Not even Nicole can ruin this song! Probably one of my favourites from them along with 'I Hate This Part', 'Beep' and 'Stickwitu' as well. A great shame they've turned into a huge joke now thanks to the utter c**t that is Robin Antin. :( Doubt I'll be a fan for much longer. 016 The Veronicas - Untouched Personal Chart Run: 33-32-25-23-22-17-13-12-11-13-12-10-05-{02}-03-09-13-17-25-30-29-32-33-38-38-> 25 I only really discovered them this year even though this song was around before it reached the UK I had only heard '4ever' previously. I have now fallen in love with them and this song in particular. They're just amazing and I really hope they can be a success in the future as well, I love the violins in the song as well, probably makes the song tbh.
January 10, 201015 yr Author 015 Eva Simons - Silly Boy Personal Chart Run: 04-02-{01}-05-06-06-08-13-18-29-32-36-39-> 13 Now if any song should've been a hit it should've been this one! Yeah it may be slightly generic but if Lady GaGa & Rihanna HAD recorded it I'm pretty sure it would've got all the support needed and been a worldwide #01 tbh. :( Still, I think it's an amazing song and video too, she showed such promise to start with as well - it's a shame she won't live up to her potential now. 014 Cobra Starship ft. Leighton Meester - Good Girls Go Bad Personal Chart Run: 23-14-12-17-24-19-15-06-05-10-15-19-28-31-36-23-05-03-{02}-08-10-15-21-25-30-37-40-> 27 One of the longest runners on my chart this year! I almost instantly fell in love with this song the first time I heard it, the production is so crisp and fresh and I adore Leighton's vocals on it ... her voice may not be the best but I adore the tone to it. Just so catchy and so underrated in the UK, should've been huge! Still a great party anthem and one of my faves this year (obvs). 013 Britney Spears - 3 Personal Chart Run: {01}-01-03-02-02-05-08-10-15-18-20-22-23-> 13 *Still On Chart* Some people thought it was a fairly weak single but I adore it! The innuendo and it's catchiness just appealed to me so much, it's not her best single ever, but it's so enjoyable and amazing to dance to as well! Love the breakdown bit and the 'Are you in? Living in sin is the new thing' part especially, Britney never fails to disappoint (me anyway :P). 012 Jordin Sparks - Battlefield Personal Chart Run: 03-{01}-01-01-01-01-02-06-09-12-21-28-33-37-40-> 15 The longest runner at the top of '09 for me! Instantly clicked with me despite being generic Ryan Tedder I loved it, I just adore her voice on it and I dunno ... theres something about the song that just really appeals to me and is by far my favourite from Jordin now, moreso than 'No Air' too I think. Really shocked/annoyed it didn't even make Top 10 over here though. 011 Tinchy Stryder ft. N-Dubz - Number One Personal Chart Run: 07-{01}-01-01-01-04-09-16-21-28-35-37-36-38-> 14 On paper I didn't expect me to like this song as much I do, but it's just so infectious and I adore the production on it as well. I usually hate Dappy's vocals as well but for some reason he makes this song so good! Definetly one of my favourite UK #01's of the year too, just a shame there wasn't more Tulisa on the track but other than that it's perfect. <3
