Elton did for The Lion King also pure rubbish?

I thought this was rubbish as well!

Not suprise Joe is #1. The song is appauling though. They shouldve picked Dont Stop Believing.

Well, not that appauling since it is #1 bought by the nation. I hate it though. Cheap childish song!

The nation doesn't buy this... all sales come from SyCo headquarters, at least 25 people are buying the song on iTunes every 5 seconds...

And how do you know that? -_-

Well I'm happy Joe is #1. I think he has a fantastic voice and deserved to win the show. I hope he gets to Christmas #1 and enjoys it. He has a great talent and should be successful, even if it is only before the fickle bubble bursts.

I find the whole RATM campaign a bit pathetic if I'm honest. Especially when a large chunk of people doing it watched The X Factor every week anyway. They do realise that this only supports the show yes? And that they're still giving money to Sony? The song isn't even good in my opinion. Ok, I think The X Factor should stop hogging the Christmas chart but this is all a bit silly. I know people who are downloading it that don't even like it!

Whilst I think The Climb was the wrong song to pick, I actual do like it. Miley Cyrus does it better than both these guys but it's still a pretty decent song which people on here seemed to support a while back. Also, it wasn't written for her or for a Disney movie. It was offered to other artists first hence why it is no longer nominated for a Grammy. Why are all Disney songs crap may I add? Is everything Elton did for The Lion King also pure rubbish?

i think your post proves the point people are trying to make, it isn't the quality of the song that is getting it to #1. when released without x factor hype it couldn't even make top 10, the song hasn't improved it is just being hyped up.

deffo get rihanna. but stick with it the whole album is like russian roulette the more listens the better it gets.

Will do then

I would also like to add that people are kind of hypocritical saying RATM should be Xmas #1 as it stops the predictability of XF winner being number one. If there is a massive campaign to get a song to topple the XF winner, it's hardly unpredictable and spontaneous if they did ever beat the winner because there would be huge exposure.

I wish XF would release the single/have the final the week after Xmas #1 so they can still get a #1 just not the Xmas one. But RATM is just as bad as the XF campaign.

If the Xmas #1 wasn't the winner every year, wouldn't the last few years' Xmas #1's be:

2008 - Leona Lewis - Run (Both Hallelujah's wouldn't have charted)

2007 - Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love? (not sure about this one)

2006 - Take That - Patience

RATM is improving. It was less then 3 times Gaga earlier, now it's at least 3.5 times Gaga.

If "Rage Against the Machine" can stay close enough to Joe, they should have #1 in tomorrow's midweek.

Sadly, that will be as close to #1 as they're going to get.

Its so sad about the xmas no1 now, makes me think back to 1996 with the spice girls 2 become 1 and sleigh ride as the b-side - now that was a xmas no1

And 'Killing In The Name' reached #25 in the UK. It hasn't gotten any better either.

:drama: at RATM.

Nice climb for the original 'the Climb' :kink:.

God I'm gutted about this. Really thought I was gonna win some money betting on GaGa. My only hope is that the people who are buying RATM will only be doing it now and the sales will trail off later in the week... but probably not. Oh WELL.
