Can't believe Leona Lewis is in the top 15 with that awful version of Stop Crying Your Heart Out. She was practically a half step flat every time she sang the word "out". Painful. Hopefully Noel Gallagher is wiser than me and won't bother listening to it.

^Oasis have never been the best singers, either. And "flat" how??

as far as "the climb", the choice of song still far escapes any reasoning for me, Journey is looking like it's going to soar into the top 5

RATM doing well outside of iTunes as the facebook group shows all the sites. Some of the buyers are clearly new to buying music as they ask question about how to download it etc.

Anyway

RATM #1 on play.com

RATM #1 and #3 on amazon.co.uk

Going to be a fun this week.

It's quite something! Gaga could easily manage 75k again this week. So are we looking at close to 350K from RATM and 450k from Joe on downloads alone??? It doesn't seem likely. Either Gaga has dropped a lot or they will drop off during the week.

Noel and Liam have a unique singing style -- and there's never a wrong note. Everything Leona sings lately is off pitch (except for those very annoying high notes she feels she must constantly throw in when the overdone choir enters). Her "out" at the end of each phrase was noticeably almost a half step under the pitch ... as if she was trying to re-write the melody to this classic song. There should be laws to prevent people from ruining songs. Oh well, she's history anyway. No hopes of a third album from her.

Maybe Simon was concerned it could have handed a weapon to xfactor protest buyers that would also appeal to the masses, like happened with Jeff Buckley last year?

Joe single is #1 under albums there, whats that about?

your delusional, bro

But I really like when people are proved wrong. Despite any opinion of her singing I hardly think this is her last album :D

Joe is definitely headed for 400k+

I wasn't inclined too at first, but seeing RATM is doing pretty big so far, I'm gonna buy the physical CD to support Joe. No way he loses the number one spot to the outrageous Sony campaign.

As soon as the physical singles hit the shops, he'll accelerate away from RATM like the Road Runner from Wile E Coyote. :P

The *real* surprise for me is 3OH!3 - I didn't rate that song at all, yet it's stormed to #4...

Win-Win all round for Sony! Maybe next year they should campaign for nine other songs ... then Ladbroke's and William Hill can have a 'Who'll be #11' betting odds. Sony have struck gold here!

Having said that ... Joe'll probably be dropped in a year so I hope he does make hay while the sun shines.

Norma

lol that made me chuckle, leona's history?

Echo by the end of the week would have sold well in to 400,000 copies already, half a million by february when the new single is out meaning more promo and exposure so leona could easily hit a million copies with this album.

Shes set to be one of the biggest singers this country has ever produced, and leona is note perfect in her performances.

Anyway hating on people. *yawn*, cant be bothered for it.

Ohh i wonder if Joe will actually hit #1 :0

I actually watched a piece of news on TV on success of FX and Leona's not been rated that high anymore... probably after they've considered a flop in most European countries (the album of course) + America.

I think the fact RATM is doing so well is a nice signal to the media that not everyone is enamoured with X Factor, and many people just watch it because it is so naff and that's a typical British thing to do. We're not all chavs and pre-teen girls who download anything that is shown on ITV1 for more than 2 seconds.

Hardly, I personally think it merely makes The X Factor look even bigger than it is. The fact is doesn't need to do anything to drive people to buy a song just because they're so annoyed by it!
