Just say anyone who posts a spolier will be banned until Christmas day or something. Should stop them.... I've been a bit apprehensive about this campaign, but I've decided that for 29p it's a great excuse to download a song I've always been rather fond of, but never actually had a copy of. Off to Amazon...

I've bought two copies - the original studio version & the live version.

I would have bought more except it is a Sony act, so I'm suspicious of the hyping of the track.

Next year (assuming no current acts get together to record an anti-X-Factor record for Xmas 2010) I hope the campaign gets behind a non Sony track that we can all support to "Fight The Power" and stick two fingers up at Simon Cowell for destroying British music with his 4 month free publicity machine resulting in another bland cover of some Adult contemporary schlock.

Such as the 1989 Def Jam Recording currently owned by Universal Music Group:

On Amazon.co.uk:

Joe is at #2; but RATM are at #1; #3; #21;#22; #91 & #92 :o

8PM update:

RATM are now at #1; #3; #17; #21; #84 & #89

Exciting stuff.

Call me a fan loon, but I would love Delta Goodrem's Believe Again to be picked for next year's campaign - it's an amazing song which hardly anyone will already have despite being already available to purchase on UK iTunes - which includes the lyric 'I believe the impossible is possible to overcome' amongst others that would fit the campaign to a tee - not to mention that it would be a gorgeous xmas #1 :o

then again...she is another Sony artist

Great to see Cheryl in the top 5. I hope she can stay there for next week's chart.
Glee is as low as 67th :'(

i'd love tori amos - baker baker to be the song if they campaign next year, just beautiful and it would make me cream myself to see tori as the xmas #1.

tori amos - baker baker -

Do you think we'll beat the "Most online users" record? :o

We could break it again  but it be a tad hard.

I downloaded RATM :D and paid for it :(

Don't feel bad. I did too ... and I bet I paid more than you!

I downloaded it from Amazon - only 29p :D

How much did you pay?

Portishead #1 WFT?

That is because that Portishead track is exclusive to 7digital.

I'm not sure that their chart is purely based on sales as they installed Joe's track at number 1 as soon as it was released, and RATM were nowhere to be seen in the top 10 - but if it is based on sales then that would still account for him being ahead of them (or at least of any individual version) there.

Well I had £6.83 lying in my iTunes account and was a bit lazy ... so I now am down to £5.84 ... I've just realised ... this makes me sound like I'm doing a 'Mikey' on a Sunday Prediction thread!

Ah well ... I suppose its a little bit more to Shelter.

Looks like you've still got a bit more money to spare. Why don't you buy the live version as well? Not even bending the rules one bit ;o
