December 28, 200915 yr Thought I'd srtuggle, since this is nearly 4 years before I was born, but I've found a few I know and like 7 6 The Sugarhill Gang - Rapper's Delight 11 12 Michael Jackson - Off The Wall  Defo one of my personal fave Wacko tracks, from a mighty fine album! 15 17 Rose Royce - Is It Love You're After  Another one I really like, later sampled by S XPress. 16 14 Blondie - Union City Blue :yahoo: Can't beat a bit of Blondie 21 32 Chic - My Feet Keep Dancing  Chic... goes without saying really.
December 30, 200915 yr Not a bad chart, but it's topped by 2 of my all-time favourite acts - with, IMO, their 2 WORST ever singles... ABBA never sounded as dull, drab and dismal as on I Have a Dream, and the less said about the Pink Floyd single the better :puke2:
January 1, 201015 yr I like with comments for the Top 10: 1 1 Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall ....... on the one hand this is too overly commercial and almost trite sounding for a Pink Floyd track. (It would be like Radiohead coming up with Creep Part 2 today, it would just sound wrong even if it was catchy as hell). On the other hand the lyrics sounded great as an 8 year old so it has become a school disco anthem to eternity. 2 2 ABBA - I Have A Dream ....... a contender for their worst ever ballad. Dull and dreary = perfect for a Westlife cover produced by Pete Waterman. 3 4 Fiddler's Dram - Day Trip To Bangor ....... A great little folk ditty that became huge. 4 5 Tourists - I Only Want To Be With You ...... Good to hear a no nonsense new wave cover of the first ever song performed on TOTP's by Dusty Springfield. Great Annie Lennox vocals too. 5 10 The Pretenders - Brass In Pocket ...... A definitive pop classic in any language. 6 7 Paul McCartney - Wonderful Christmas Time ....... Yes it is lightweight and throwaway, but I'd rather listen to this catchy experimental early synthesised piece of fluff than the overwrought and borderline preachy and patronising Xmas effort by his former songwriting partner in crime every christmas. 7 6 The Sugarhill Gang - Rapper's Delight ..... a rip off of Chic's Good Times with a greatcatchy rap over the top. 8 3 The Police - Walking On The Moon ........ probably my least favourite of the Police's five UK chart toppers. 9 2 Gibson Brothers - Que Sera Mi Vida ...... I hate this track. 10 9 The Three Degrees - My Simple Heart ...... a great Rodgers/Edwards (CHIC corporation) pastiche. 11 12 Michael Jackson - Off The Wall 12 13 David Bowie - John I'm Only Dancing (Again) 14 11 Donna Summer And Barbra Streisand - No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) 15 17 Rose Royce - Is It Love You're After 16 14 Blondie - Union City Blue 17 20 The Beat - Tears Of A Clown/Ranking Full Stop 18 16 Status Quo - Living On An Island 19 18 The Moody Blues - Nights In White Satin {1979} 20 28 KC And The Sunshine Band - Please Don't Go 21 32 Chic - My Feet Keep Dancing 22 19 Madness - One Step Beyond 23 24 Skids - Working For The Yankee Dollar 24 43 Billy Preston And Syreeta - With You I'm Born Again 26 15 Electric Light Orchestra - Confusion/Last Train To London 29 29 The Clash - London Calling 30 36 Kurtis Blow - Christmas Rappin' 32 26 Queen - Crazy Little Thing Called Love 33 33 Sheila And B Devotion - Spacer 38 34 Diana Ross - It's My House 39 45 Booker T & the MG's - Green Onions 40 73 The Nolans - I'm In The Mood For Dancing 43 27 The Boomtown Rats - Diamond Smiles 45 41 Motorhead - Bomber 48 23 Gary Numan - Complex 49 61 Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird EP 50 67 Fleetwood Mac - Sara
