It is official. The chart is published officially on Friday, but is already done on Monday to be distributed in the industry.

I thought someone said the Germany chart works in a 2 week rotation. How that works i don't know!

In the UK the chart on Sunday is based on the sales from the previous 7 days

 

However in Germany it's based on the sales from the week before the previous week, so the chart on this Friday March 12th, will be based on sales from Feb 26th-March 5th.

 

Furthermore Germany's charts are based on sales REVENUE and not UNITS like here in the UK

Well, Germany ain't the UK. iTunes isn't the only place where we buy our music ;)

No, I'll try to explain it:

In the UK, if release day (Sunday) is day 1, the chart is published on day 8 (the next Sunday).

 

In Germany, if release day (Friday) is day 1, the chart is officially published on day 15 (Friday 2 weeks later). But we already get some infos from day 11 (Monday) on.
