Officially 5 in Germany! and Parachute enters the European singles chart at 33

Ladies and Gentlemen, Cheryl has scored her FIRST number 1 outside the UK and ireland! Officially 5 in Germany!

 

It's a great news, but I'm a little disappointment, because i had hope to at least top 3 in Germany.

top 5 is still brilliant in one of the big markets outside of the UK and the US and without anything more than promo from her radio interview. She hasn't even done a televised performance there. If she performed on the Echo awards she may well have got higher

Cheryl Cole's single Fight For This Love is making it big internationally.

Something Girls Aloud have never done.

 

She is currently #1 in Denmark & South Africa

She also has new entries at #5 in Germany, #19 in Austria

She's also climbing in Switzerland up to #15, Australia up #9 and is #20 in Spain and #47 in Sweden and #35 in Holland (after peaking at #11).

 

Girls Aloud have had just a couple minor hits in Germany, Holland and Sweden early in their career.

I've absolutely NO idea how.

 

It actually makes me quite annoyed that that piece of poop has gone top 10, possibly climbing to top 5, while Biology only got to 26!

Of course, you have right, but seriously didn't you expect something more after almost 10 days #1 on german itunes?

I'm so pleased for her.

 

It is quite understandable GA never made it big in Europe though :

 

1) They never even tried to make it big, and in most countries only released SOTU.

2) Their sound isn't very suitable out there, although I'm sure songs like SKO or The Promise would have been big if released.

What's up with the Spanish charts? She's been top 5/10 for ages on iTunes but only peaked at 17 on the chart, what other download sites do they use? Or are physicals still pretty big over there?

I know it's really sad but it's how it works here in Spain. Some people prefer to spend 3 euros on a ringtone rather than buying songs. But i'm sure if she comes to Spain to promote she will be top 10.

 

Btw, who are Lena Meyer-Landrut and Jennifer Braun? they have 5 songs in the top 5 of the German iTunes.

I think its Friday-Thursday, otherwise sales would overlap

 

Its still good its holding srtong - hopefully next week it'll go gold as well
