December 31, 200915 yr Does this mean there have only been 80 tunes in the top 10 in the whole of the last six months? There have only been 127 throughout the entire year.

December 31, 200915 yr [39] Rage Against The Machine 'Killing In The Name' [6] [ 1 Point ] [59] Joe McElderry 'The Climb' [10] [ -49 Points ] Same week, but look at the difference in popularity
January 1, 201015 yr Author [19] Britney Spears '3' [4-x] [ 35 Points ] [19] Chicane 'Poppiholla' [5-7-3-x] [ 35 Points] On a draw in 19th, it's two completely different songs. One is the lead single from a female pop singer's second greatest hits album, whilst the other is the lead single from a male dance/trance artist's greatest hits album. Oh wait. Anyway, both tracks did very well, to say they were quite unpromoted, whilst '3' was a huge success, as opposed to Britney's previous 2 singles, which are her lowest charting ever. [18] The Veronicas 'Untouched' [2-5-7-x] [ 39 Points ] At #18 is the UK debut single for Australian sisters The Veronicas. This was quite a surprise success here, spending 5 weeks in the official UK top 10, despite only peaking at #8. Many BuzzJackers already knew about this group, hence the initial high chart position. [17] Agnes 'Release Me' [3-3-6-6-7-x] [ 47 Points ] Another surprise success, is original Swedish 'Idol' winner, Agnes Carlsson. Agnes had massive success with this song all over Europe in the early months of 2009, making it one of the year's biggest and best dance tracks. I'm disappointed, however, that follow-up single 'I Need You Now' only crawled into the top 40 at the bottom. [16] The Temper Trap 'Sweet Disposition' [2-3-x] [ 54 Points ] Yet another of 2009's surprise hits, but this wasn't a hit straight away, people needed it thrown in their faces by being used as backing music on many TV adverts and TV programmes, such as the 'Big Brother' final. I must admit, it's quite a good song, but got massively overplayed, and will probably overshadow future single 'Fader'. [15] Sugababes 'Get Sexy' [2-4-5-x] [ 57 Points ] Here are the "most successful" girlgroup of the 21st century. I use quotation marks, as they're not a girlgroup, just 4 different girlgroups under the same name. Anyway, the 'Babes scored their first ever UK#2 with this hit, which has an interpolation of Right Said Fred's 'I'm Too Sexy', like their previous two singles, containing samples or interpolations. [14] Pixie Lott 'Boys And Girls' [2-4-4-5-x] [ 73 Points] Now for the second entry from Pixie Lott, and a much more popular song, despite both peaking at #1 on the UK singles chart. 'Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)' wasn't half good (I mean, look at the title), but she definetly topped it with this club smash. [13] Rihanna 'Russian Roulette' [2-2-4-7] [ 91 Points ] Now (quite a poor) comeback from 2007/2008's biggest diva, as everybody expected another big club smash like 'Don't Stop The Music' or 'Umbrella', and we got this, a ballad, which nobody was really interested in, and probably lost herself quite a bit of her fanbase, as the parent album, 'Rated R', failed to reach the top 10. [12] Madonna 'Celebration' [1-1-x] [ 100 Points ] Now for the Queen of pop, and the lead single to her a billionth greatest hits set. It's a good dance track, I admit, but the video is definately not anything I'd go out of my way to watch. Anyway, as it's Madonna, BuzzJack loved this track, keeping it at #1 for two weeks, what most people assumed it would reach in the official charts. [11] La Roux 'Bulletproof' [3-3-3-4-5-3-5-6-x] [ 105 Points ] And the last song before the top 10, La Roux's 2nd single, and last to reach the top 10. The year started well for Elly and Ben, but the big mistake was releasing 'I'm Not Your Toy' as their 3rd single, as it sounds incredibly similar to 'Bulletproof'. Anyway, they finally got their long deserved #1, after 'In For The Kill' had hung around at #2 for a whole month. Edited January 2, 201015 yr by Theo.
January 1, 201015 yr ^It was a 50/50 chance. :P Lol, you're still wrong, Chicane isn't a singer, he's just an 'artist'
January 1, 201015 yr Author [10] Cheryl Cole 'Fight For This Love' [1-1-4-6-7-5-5-x] [ 118 Points ] http://i33.tinypic.com/23h5blz.jpg Kicking off the top 10, it's one of my favourite artists of 2009, with one of my favourite songs of 2009. I'm glad Cheryl got a huge amount of success last year, as she truly deserves it, and it just goes to show that even artists who may be disliked as a person can still score massive success with their music. I'm really glad this was the fastest selling song of '09, and I hope she can carry on scoring success, with, or without Girls Aloud. Edited January 2, 201015 yr by Theo.
January 1, 201015 yr Rihanna's comeback is one of my faves of the year! But each to their own and all that.
January 1, 201015 yr Author Rihanna's comeback is one of my faves of the year! But each to their own and all that. Don't get me wrong, I do like 'Russian Roulette', and other material on 'Rated R', it's just as a comeback single, from an in-demand artist, it's quite weak. Sorry. I'm surprised Pixie's "Boys and Girls" was higher than "Mama Do" :o I'm not at all. For a start, 'Mama Do' is a bit too cheesy, whilst 'Boys And Girls' is more sophisticated if you like, hence more people on BuzzJack liking it. Also, 'Boys And Girls' was #1 on the reshuffle, if I remember rightly.
January 1, 201015 yr Author [09] Taio Cruz 'Break Your Heart' [3-3-3-2-2-4-x] [ 134 Points ] http://i29.tinypic.com/33kc137.jpg Now for Taio Cruz, and (surprisingly) one of the longest runs at the top of the official chart last year. Anyway, I liked this song on first listen, but once I heard 'Dirty Picture' (featuring Ke$ha), I wondered why he chose to release this first. It's a good track, I admit, but when he has another track like that, it seems a bit silly. Anyway, this is one of few songs in the top ten which didn't reach #1, quite an achievement. January 2, 201015 yr Author [08] Tinchy Stryder Feat. Amelle Berrabah 'Never Leave You' [3-3-2-2-3-x] [ 138 Points] http://i47.tinypic.com/i3yn21.jpg Another of 2009's biggest pop/R&B hits, this time coming from Tinchy Stryder, with his second UK#1 single, which failed to be as successful as 'Number 1', but was liked by more people on BuzzJack, maybe because of the featuring artist, Amelle Berrabah of the Sugababes (v.3.0-present). Anyway, this is a very good single choice by Tinchy, but still not as good as his previous two singles. Edited January 2, 201015 yr by Theo.

January 2, 201015 yr Author [07] Shakira 'She Wolf' [2-2-1-1-5-x] [ 147 Points ] http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa149/theog101/CD%20Covers/SheWolf545.jpg Now this is definately one of BuzzJack's favourite comebacks of 2009! The song is so original, and fresh sounding, and most people were surprised that this didn't hit #1 in the official chart, as at the time of release, two months after it'd leaked, most people would have already heard it, and it was "old", although the amount of success it got is just what Shakira needed, after two years out of the limelight. I just hope Shakira can have more British success, and I'm quite disappointed that 'Did It Again' flopped. Edited January 2, 201015 yr by Theo.
