1) Does the #1 normally have such a big lead?

Depends, but Taylor Swift is a phenom

2) Sales from today would count towards which singles chart? The one revealed next Thursday, or the Thursday after. I've read wikipedia's section explaining the Billboard Hot 1, but with airplay and sales being tracked over different days, it confuses me.

The chart revealed next Thursday counts sales from 0:01 on Monday 18th Jan till 23:59 on Sunday 24th Jan.

3) iTunes makes up what percentage of the US chart? And like, what's the percentages for Sales overall, and airplay?

iTunes makes up a large percentage of the download market. Not sure of the split between airplay, downloads and streaming.

I'm pretty sure it's like 45% sales, 50% airplay, 5% streaming.

Justin (yeah and timba) song gaining unbelievably!!! it's now 11 and will be top 10 in no time with such a low airplay and no promotion or even a video clip! Justin is the king without a doubt, even 4 years after his last album,

everything he touches turns gold.

The way airplay/sales/streaming is turned into a Hot 100 position:

Sales (both digital and physical) - Every 1,000 sold = 1 chart point

So if a song sells 200,000 that's 200 points.

Airplay - Every 1 million audience impressions = 1 chart point

So if a song has an audience of 100 million then that's 100 points. You've got to remember when people post mediabase numbers like 112.4892 that's in millions.

Now streaming, I'm not too sure :P I know it's another _______ streams = 1 chart point, I'm just not sure on the value because the chart never leaks and people just don't really pay much attention to it.

Then the Hot 100 is sorted by the higher the points, the higher the position.

that charity track is #1 in like every country now :o

Which countries iTunes have 'Stranded' at no. 1?

Does anyone know where I can see the iTunes charts for various countries? We used to have ad1 on ChC post the European iTunes charts daily and I always checked it out. Do you have anything similar on Buzzjack?

http://www.apple.com/euro/itunes/charts/top10songs.html

Note that the Top 10s listed by iTunes on that page don't include songs listed as explicit, eg, Bedrock is missing from the US Top 10, and Jay-Z's ESOM won't be listed in any of the Top 10s either.
