Justin Bieber climbs three places to No2 with ‘My Worlds’ and Lady Gaga is back up four places to No3 with ‘The Fame’. The next new entry is at No9 for LCD Soundsystem with their third, and allegedly final studio album ‘This Is Happening’, an improvement on their eponymous debut which charted at No17 in 2005 and the follow-up ‘Sound Of Silver’ which charted at No14 in 2007. The Rolling Stones classic ‘Exile On Main Street’ returns to the Top 20 at No14, re-issued 38 years after the original release in 1972. This is the Stones’ first chart appearance since their Scorsese-directed live album ‘Shine A Light’ reached No10 two years ago. Alexandra Burke climbs three places from No4 to No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘All Night Long’ (feat. Pitbull) – her third Irish No1 from four releases, following ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Bad Boys’. Plan B’s ‘She Said’ leaps seven places from No9 to No2, boosted by his Late Late Show performance last Friday, leapfrogging Train (down to No3 after one week on top) and Usher (down from No2 to No4). I had notifed some of the moderators of the agreement we had come too but others may not have been aware of this. That agreement is that if he is online before me he will post the charts and I'll send him the formatted version later for him to edit the original post. As he is posting here early in the afternoon the comments from others about having to wait until the evening are complete crap. I note that those who are doing all the complaining are people who never normally visit the Irish chart thread and who never post here - such as the guy who has tried to post the chart in ach of the last 2 weeks whose only aim was to stir things (I notice his only contribution has been to post the charts both weeks and do a vanishing act). If they're really so keen to discuss the charts that soon as has already been pointed out they're on digitalspy and (seemingly) millions of other websites. Of course in another couple of weeks these same people will disappear again and we'll not see them again.

It should definitely climb in the next couple of weeks but that's a slightly disappointing position considering the CD was released last week and her appearance on the Late Late Show. I also thought she might have expectedto pick up some sales from people cherrypicking from the Eurovision album. On the other hand it seems to have been available as a download since straight after being selected as this years entry having entered at 39 at the time so perhaps it has been selling consistantly since then. Alexandra Burke drops to No2 with ‘All Night Long’ (feat. Pitbull), ahead of this week’s highest new entry at No3 for Eminem with ‘Not Afraid’, his nineteenth Irish Top 10 single over a ten year period. N-Dubz have the next new entry at No9 with ‘We Dance On’ (feat. Bodyrox), their fourth appearance on the Irish Singles Chart including a No1 as featured artists on Tinchy Stryder’s ‘Number 1’ a year ago. The Glee Cast rack up their 21st and 22nd Top 30 hits with their versions of two Lady Gaga songs - ‘Bad Romance’ new at No10, and ‘Poker Face’ new at No16. The Glee Cast debut at the top of this week’s Album Chart with ‘Glee – The Music: Vol 3’, their third No1 album in less than four months. Villagers’ ‘Becoming A Jackal’ slips to No2 after a week on top, one place ahead of Mumford & Sons who climb back to No3 with ‘Sigh No More’. Tiesto’s ‘Magikal Journey - The Hits Collection’ leaps from No17 to No7 – just below the No5 peak for both previous albums (‘Elements’ in 2007 and ‘Kaleidoscope’ in 2009). Highest new entry honours go to Australian drum’n’bass’n’rock band Pendulum whose third studio album ‘Immersion’ comes in at No15, their first appearance in the Irish Charts.
