Posted January 2, 201015 yr Have been watching the Official Top 40 Best Selling Singles of 2009 on MTV Hits for a few hours now and found so many mistakes they have made. Firstly, they advertise it as OFFICIAL :o not including The Climb or Killing in the Name stating as a LATE ENTRY. Secondly, the last week of 2009 has not been included in their "official" countdown. How music channels can get away with things like that! :nono:
January 2, 201015 yr Yeah, most of these tv countdowns broke off on Christmas Eve actually. But if MTV didn`t include those 2 songs, then it would have broken off on 12th December. The tv version of Hit40uk did feature The Climb and Killing In The Name. Surprisingly RATM were #7, and Joe was #9. I don`t believe the MTV countdown features Joe/RATM/Bad Romance. All told, a total of 126 songs made the Official top 10, during 2009. The complete Hit40uk TV Top 40: 01 Pokerface 02 I Gotta Feeling 03 Just Dance 04 Fight For This Love 05 In For The Kill 06 Boom Boom Pow 07 Killing In The Name 08 Number 1 09 The Climb 10 Bad Boys 11 Sexy Chick 12 Use Somebody 13 Beat Again 14 The Fear 15 Single Ladies 16 Halo 17 Broken Strings 18 Right Round 19 Jai Ho 20 Bonkers 21 Sex On Fire 22 Sweet Dreams 23 Breathe Slow 24 Paparazzi 25 When Love Takes Over 26 Not Fair 27 We Made You 28 Release Me 29 Shake It 30 Take Me Back 31 T-Shirt 32 Knock You Down 33 Supernova 34 Day N`Nite 35 Love Story 36 Beautiful 37 Break Your Heart 38 Evacuate The Dancefloor 39 Meet Me Halfway 40 Bulletproof That one was "made up" of 50/50 sales & tv airplay. If you can fathom it out! Personally I couldn`t. I doubt that the Big Top 40 on Independant radio will do a countdown of the year, as they are apparently there, to be ahead! But no doubt Red & I`m Yours would be jolly high on there, if they did.
January 2, 201015 yr I suppose they're counting on the fact the majority of people watching won't know any different or care.
January 3, 201015 yr I suppose they're counting on the fact the majority of people watching won't know any different or care. This is exactly what most music channels do. And record companies do the same with their press releases.
