Posted January 4, 201016 yr It will be all change at the top end of the UK singles chart this coming weekend, with Dutch DJ Sidney Samson set to lead a top five with only one possible survivor from the current countdown. Ministry of Sound act Samson’s newly-issued Riverside is expected to be joined in the top five on Sunday by Iyaz’s US smash hit Replay, which was also released on Monday, and chart climbers from Florence + The Machine and 30H3 featuring Katy Perry. Only Interscope/Polydor act Lady GaGa, whose Bad Romance returned to number one last Sunday, could end up retaining her top-five status in what will amount to a big shake-up of the leading positions, according to OCC figures. Sean Kingston discovery Iyaz already sits at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 with Replay and is expected to debut in the same position in the UK this coming weekend, while Island act Florence + The Machine are on course for their biggest hit single yet with their cover of You’ve Got To Love set to move from its present chart position of 13 into the top five. Asylum/Warner Bros act 3OH3’s Starstrukk single, which was at six on last Sunday’s chart, is expected to return to the top five. Florence + The Machine are also in a close-run battle with Atlantic’s Paolo Nutini to top the artist albums chart. Florence’s Lungs, which originally peaked at two on the chart last July, is little more than 1,000 sales behind Nutini’s Sunny Side Up, with both albums subject to significant discounting online and on the high street. Interscope/Polydor’s Lady GaGa album The Fame is a few thousand sales further behind, while the week so far’s top-five sellers are completed by Syco’s Susan Boyle and Reprise/Warner Bros’s Michael Buble. With little activity coming from brand new albums on the chart, the focus instead falls on 2009 releases that are subject to sales revivals. These include Regal/Parlophone act Lily Allen’s It’s Not Me It’s You and Island-signed Mumford & Sons’ Sigh No More, which both could make Top 10 returns this Sunday. The only new album likely to debut in the Top 40 is Elvis 75, a Sony retrospective to mark what would have been Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday. January 5, 201016 yr I think both 'Replay' and 'Riverside' are dire and a horrible way to start the new year/decade. Hope 'Replay' makes it though as it's the more tolerable of the two evils. Also fingers crossed for a good Lostprophets position!

'Riverside' will also benefit from having a physical release and dance singles tend to sell relatively well on cd. That said, I prefer 'Replay' by IYAZ. :(
