Thanks very much for that Tilly, listening right now!!!

Glad you're enjoying it! It's a great way to hear the tracks that your average radio station don't play B)

My fave Elvis Album is " The Jungle Rooms Sessions"". I absolutly love this Album. I could listen to it all day :cheer:

I love that one too, Lesley

That's a great price for those albums! Nice one Ethan

Amazingly I recieved them today, after only ordering them thursday night. But unfortunately I now realise why they were so bloody cheap; the slipcase is pretty tatty and both of the CD cases themselves are cracked all over. I bet they're selling them at a reduced price because they're either the last few copies in stock which have been lying around battered for years or copies that people have returned. I'm not that bothered for that price though, I'll just buy a few new cases and and leave them out of the slipcase as the inlays and discs are fine and the music is beyond brilliant :yahoo:

Reckon you're right there, Ethan, but, like you say, as long as the CDs are fine, you can always put them in new cases. You're so right, the music is fantastic so who cares about the cases anyway :cheer:

Wow! That's expensive :o You can get The Jungle Room Sessions a lot cheaper than that though. That album is on the Follow That Dream label which is created an officially endorsed collectors label issued on behalf of Sony BMG.

I usually get mine from Essential Elvis. Unfortunately, I can't give you the link right now as I've heard that there is a problem with their website right now, but I've looked on the Elvis - The Man And His Music site and they're selling it at £18.99, along with a lot of the other FTD albums and here's the link so you can have a look yourself B) (JRS album is near to the bottom of the page ;) )

WELV-FM All Elvis

One central Kentucky radio station has changed its format and even its name to keep Elvis Presley always on the mind. Richmond, Ky., station 106.7 FM is playing all Elvis, and is now known as WELV.

General manager Sean Hamilton said that listeners can expect to hear interviews, live music and about anything from the Elvis collection, which Hamilton said includes several hundred songs.

People outside the listening area can hear the broadcast live on the Internet . Listeners can also leave their opinions about the new format on the Web site.

The change was made Jan. 8 to celebrate Presley's 75th birthday.

Elvis Presley Sings The Great British Songbook 2 CD

On May 24 Sony U.K. will release a 2 CD compilation called Elvis Presley Sings The Great British Songbook compiled by Todd Slaughter of the British fan club. The compilation features songs that were written by some of Britain's greatest songwriters. This is most certainly not your ordinary run-of-the-mill compilation.

1976 Birmingham and Dallas soundboards new FTD Release:

As confirmed by EIN last month, FTD is soon to annouce the December 1976 live double-pack of the Dallas and Birmingham shows. Back in 2002 Ernst Jorgensen told us at EIN..

Ernst.J – We have the three December 1976 shows and one of them could be the basis of a CD and the highlights from the others. None of them are complete on soundboards because the tapes weren’t long enough for those shows. ... So we will definitely do that in the future." Elvis News says today that Sony has now given permission for both shows as an official release on the FTD label.

'High Sierra' Lake Tahoe LIVE 1974 new FTD: :cheer:

Yet another early May release, 'HIGH SIERRA' features mainly the performance from May 21, 1974 at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel with additional highlights from other shows that month (see details below). 'High Sierra' will be released in a 5” digipack format with an 8-page booklet. Strangely FTD's cover right says "May 1976" although it is definitely Elvis 1974!

'So High' FTD to be deleted:

More FTD News - One of the best FTD compiles from Elvis' sixties Nashville sessions, 'So High' is to be deleted from the FTD calatogue as soon as the current stock is sold out, notes Elvis Matters. One of our top-rating CDs featuring Elvis' Nashville session outtakes 1966-1968 it is a essential on for your colection.

See EIN review here. http://www.elvisinfonet.com/sohigh.html

We are informed that the vinyl releases 'Blue Hawaii' and 'Standing Room Only' are also nearly out of stock.

'ELVIS: On Tour' SONY/BMG Autumn 2010 CD Box-set?:

With the 'On Tour' DVD finally being released (sadly without any extras) 2010 must at last be the year we see an official release of Elvis' Hampton Roads 'On Tour' concert. Back in 2002 Ernst Jorgensen told EIN "The reason why we haven’t put out 'On Tour' on either FTD or RCA at this time is that we would ideally like to do it with the DVD release. So we are giving them (Warners) a little more time but eventually if they don’t come around, we will release the material that we have which is pretty substantial. Nothing that you can’t guess what it is".

One can only hope for a 2CD Legacy version, or even better a 3CD box-set similar to the great 'TTWII' BMG release. The first disc has to be Elvis' sensational 'Hampton Roads' concert. It is noteworthy that FTD/RCA have also not yet released anything from Elvis' Greensboro or Richmond concerts. A second CD of the "best" of these concerts combined with a third CD of studio rehearsals would be a fitting tribute.

Last week (see story here) Ernst Jorgensen also said that, "Another Presley reissue is likely in the fall". With the 'On Tour' DVD being released in August 2010, the matching 'On Tour' CD release would make perfect sense.
