Loving all these top 5/top 10 position :cheer:

almost makes me wish I'd sent it last month :heehee: still, I loved Caroline just as much and I figured that this would end up in the contest whether I sent it or not, whereas Caroline really wouldn't have

at least people are discovering it, doesn't matter whose doing the introducing :w00t: amazing song

Tbh I probably would have sent Caroline if you didn't :kink: By the way that was meant to say "predictions"...

I meant if I hadn't ever put it in my national thread...or did you already know the song beforehand?

Oh no I didn't... get you now
I've never discovered a song and then 2 countries were considering it for their entry. :kink:
Maybe it's something to do with your weird but surprisingly effective music taste
Just like Sound Of Arrows, i didn't really thought of it as a BJSC entry and now here we go they are Top 5 in BBC Sound of 2010 :heehee:

M.A.G.I.C. was an obvious BJSC entry for me first time I heard it - The Sound of Arrows are on the accessible pop side of indie

how many male acts have had two top ten hits in BJSC! are there even any others?

I'm sure Darin will have had two Top 3 hits when he doesn't get through to the ESC for Sweden :kink:

The Sound Of Arrows weren't even in the Top 15 in of Sound of 2010? Or am I missing something?

he's talking about HURTS, hence the 'just like Sound of Arrows' situation

maybe but I didn't notice either Baby Goodbye or Hope & Glory in BJSC :o Example should have had two top ten hits by now too :arrr: shame EVERYBODY (apart from 7 or 8 people -) only realised that they liked Watch The Sun Come Up when it hit the release schedule :kink:

Ahh, I mis-understood the sentence. :magic:

Me neither, I've never had to fight for a song :P

I did have to wait for a while for Inner Massiva to unreserve Beautiful Small Machines before I sent Robots In Love (which I was CERTAIN that I had to send that month) - thankfully for me they made a drastic error in judgement and picked some other DNQ :heehee:

I can't recall a time when I've not been able to send the song that I wanted to though :o which is the best thing about sending almost exclusively unknown artists  I was quite surprised that nobody else had thought of sending Jungle Drum looking back...it was in quite a few personal charts already at the time, although I only realised this after I'd confirmed what I thought was another completely unknown song, only to discover it had just received a soft UK release the week before :o

I prefer going for more unknown artists as there's more pride when they do well , getting to the final with Polly and Leddra means as much to me as Velvet coming 3rd.

I completely agree - I always feel pride when my entries do well (apart from with Andreas Johnson - don't know why I sent a former UK #4 hit to the contest!?!) - in fact even if they don't do well, even getting a single 8, 10 or 12 with an unknown artist brings a sense of achievement. There is NO better feeling in this contest than winning with an unknown artist but I'd only really class Margaret Berger, Lenka, Uh Huh Her and Beautiful Small Machines (Sara Bareilles, Katy Perry and La Roux are arguable but they had success elsewhere/internet hype at the time of winning) as being 'unknown' when they won the contest - I'd love to see more unknown acts win the contest - for me the reason I continue to participate is to find great music I'd be unlikely to otherwise stumble across outside of it  to overcome all of the established artists, release schedule songs and internet hyped tracks and win with something that barely anybody else has heard is a huge achievement!

Next time i'm AQing i'm sending something like f*** Buttons or Four Tet so that everybody will have to listn to it and turn INDIE

My little dues/subscription to making BJSC indie-oriented. :kink:

why not just send them anyway :P I have been trying to indie-fy myself in recent days by youtubing songs from Ben's playlist/chart thing and other indie blogs but aside from 1 or 2 songs, I just don't care about them at all :( I guess you can't be turned into a fan of a certain genre - you either like it or you don't...this isn't to say that it's all bad, pop/indie is amazing, but indie/indie isn't my cup of tea

If i send any of these i will be super lucky to get 10 points in the semi whereas getting into final would be a miracle

I succeeded nevertheless :kink:

When i first heard these two songs below just a week ago i didn't even like them :o Now I seriously can't get enough of both  So nothing is impossible :P
