Those chart rules are quite similar to the OCC Singles Chart rules. The OCC have decided that ESOM II by Alicia Keys is not a variant or alternative format of ESOM by Jay-Z / AK. In fact the only thing the two songs share is Alicia Keys contribution to the latter song (the original version). After Alicia recorded her vocals for ESOM she then decided to write a new song using her contribution to the Jay-Z song as the basis for the new song. The compilers of the British National Top 50 have certainly used a liberal interpretation of the rules to combine both songs...

I guess you're right Robbie. However, I can understand the management of APC-stats to combine the data.
It's a good chart though and as Dave suggests it would be a better chart for the Big Top 40 programme to use.

Concerning ESOM: Both the tracks from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys are produced by Al Shux. As I said I can understand the choice for combining the data by APC-stats.
