Posted January 10, 201015 yr M.I.A. has revealed that she has finished adding the final touches to her follow-up to Kala. The singer-songwriter has opened up about the recording process to her forthcoming third studio album. The 34-year-old told Rolling Stone: "The last album, I didn’t actually sit anywhere long enough for it to really be in my life and to really think about it. Now I’m putting out my next album, and the world has changed. I came up talking s**t about Bush, and it’s great that it’s changed, but I don’t know how much it’s changed, and I’m exploring that. "I just want to be real, whatever that is. Even if my songs are s**t, and if I have flaws and if I’m confused, if I offend people or if I don’t offend people, I might try to work it out in public, just so you know that it’s okay to think, that thinking’s not a dirty word." M.I.A.'s as-yet-untitled third album is scheduled to be released this summer. I cannee waittt! :dancing: Edited May 11, 201015 yr by Cremey
January 10, 201015 yr Wasn't a fan of both of her albums but looking forward to see what this record might be :o
January 10, 201015 yr Exciting. <3 She's got a lot to live up to, but she managed to follow up the amazing Arular with Kala, so I'm not too worried. Gurl is good.
January 10, 201015 yr MIA is always fantastic, hopefully she will live up to her reputation with this new album!! :)
January 11, 201015 yr Author M.I.A. has claimed that she's a terrible singer. The 'Paper Planes' rapper has admitted that she's amazed that she ever attained a successful music career because she always mocked her vocal abilities, Contactmusic reports. The 34-year-old said: "I used to walk down the corridor singing whatever was on the radio like 'Wonderwall' or whatever, and I was so off. It was so bad. Everyone used to notice. I was totally well known for being tone deaf at college." The singer-songwriter also revealed that she's astonished at the success she attained in the US because she never strived for stardom. She added: "It's so strange because I didn't even try. Americans got it by not getting it in a way. They have fewer preconceptions than in England. I used to try and explain my viewpoint to English people and they just didn't understand. "Now I've got this international platform and it's so important to make a statement because that s**t is so f**king rare. It's so rare to have anyone say anything these days." M.I.A. recently opened up about her as-yet-untitled third album, which is scheduled to be released this summer. :heehee:
January 12, 201015 yr Author Aaaah so exciting! Srsly can't wait for this. I'm sure that'll keep me going for a while though, just hearing/seeing some new M.I.A. is brilliant!
January 13, 201015 yr The video on youtube for everyone: Qu1Pj4iWIIk I posted somewhere that I wasn't really looking forward to this album because I wasn't too keen on the direction she was going in post-Kala. But this is EXACTLY the direction I wanted her to go. I always enjoyed her more laid back tracks like Sunshowers, Paper Planes and Take It Easy and really wanted to see what she'd be like doing some nice trippy song like this. It's perfect.
January 17, 201015 yr Author Apparently the album's to be titled 'Mission.Impossible.Area'. The name of the song posted above is 'Space Odyssey'.
January 17, 201015 yr Can't wait for this! :yahoo: There's so many good comebacks this year - MIA, Dido, Christina. Goldfrapp :)

April 23, 201015 yr Author I knew she'd be going in a different direction for this album but I wasn't expecting this! Absolutely love it though. The album is out 28th June. I don't think the album title has actually been confirmed, so I'll alter the title of the thread. http://web4.twitpic.com/img/88907665-15b47c61ac5124f920b3d4b6beb2e330.4bd20959-full.gif AMAZING.
