It's getting mixed reviews./

 

Mixed? It only has one bad review (a disjointed one at that) and then universal acclaim.

 

Saying that, I haven't heard the album yet but I'm hearing good things.

Q, Mojo, Uncut....?

 

Cant remember but either Mojo or Uncut gave it 2/5. Q were disappointed too.

Critics were probably waiting for more accessible album..More of a pop album.

 

I'm not a critic but I did wait for her to release a solid but controversial pop-electro record with a message. Instead it sounds like a mess. But this is after one listen so it might grow.

 

 

There's a remix of 'Teqkilla' which features Nicki Minaj. I love both of them (probably my two favourite female artists atm) but Nicki sounds a bit drowned out by the backing music...still like it a lot, just wish that was sorted out a bit better!

I seriously can't wait for the HQ of the album! I listened to the low quality leak earlier today and I thought it sounded great!

Q, Mojo, and Uncut (Q especially) are all $h!tty magazines with $h!tty reviews that typically cover $h!tty music.

 

Q gave the Knife's masterpiece Silent Shout a 1/10. AKA they should not exist as a credible source of music ratings/review.

I respect Uncut and Mojo's opinion. I find it a huge stretch to say that Uncut is a $h!tty magazine.

But Paper Planes, Sunshowers, Bucky Done Gun and Jimmy were pop hits.

 

This time, it seems that only XXXO can be labeled as a potential hit.

 

The deluxe edition has leaked in iTunes quality. (Well, not really leaked, it has been released in Japan, but...)

Downloading now...can't wait to hear the bonus tracksss

'Illygirl' is f***ing amazing. Perhaps my favourite on the whole album.

Why it's only a bonus track is completely beyond me.

'Believer' is pretty damn niice too.

Listening now. Finally in great quality! That 128kbps rip was impossible to listen.

Can't say I'm not disappointed... I was expecting more from Meds and Feds.

Meds and Feds is a Sleigh Bells rip-off :( (Unless they ripped someone off too :lol: )

M.I.A. signed then / 'discovered them' yea. So not really a ripoff. M.I.A. kinda takes from different sources and that's how she creates her music. Even Diplo has said she doesn't much musical talent, she's more of a visionary-type.

This is her most generic album. I miss the world sounds but enjoy the more laid back melodies.
