January 22, 201015 yr Darius was OK, Kym was brilliant and Danny was much better than last week. That's what I was thinking (although Darius was a bit more than OK). Was impressed with Danny ... huge improvement on last week ... and a lovely song which I haven't actually heard too often. Kym was fabulous! I note there is drink theme here though ... Stella Artois last week, the Drinking Song this week ... are they trying to tell her something? Norma
January 22, 201015 yr Vanessa was good, a better performance than last week. Bernie was :o wow amazing.
January 22, 201015 yr I thought Vanessa was dreadful. The easiest song of the night to sing and she fluffed it. She seemed so out of breath! And ... talking of heavy workloads ... hers isn't half as busy as Kym Marsh's! If there's any justice tonight ... Vanessa should go. Besides ... if she's cancelling sessions ... she really can't care too much about it anyway. Bernie was FABULOUS! Norma
January 22, 201015 yr Order of merit tonight: Bernie Kym Marcella (I would have put her first as hers was the hardest song ... but she wasn't as good as last week) Darius Danny Jimmy Vanessa (sorry Sats fans ... she was unprofessional in rehearsal and dreadful on the night ... and with the easiest song by leagues!) Norma
January 22, 201015 yr For me it's Bernie Marcella Kym Danny :o Darius Vanessa Jimmy - thought he was terrible.
January 22, 201015 yr Jimmy - thought he was terrible. He admitted it himself! I so wanted him to be good tonight ... I just think the guy is lovely! He does have bundles more personality than Vanessa though ... which is why ... if those two are in the bottom ... I hope they save Jimmy ... at least he doesn't cancel his sessions. Besides ... he has nicer teeth! Norma
January 22, 201015 yr So happy Jimmy's been given another chance. I hope next week they give him something that is more 'opera' biased and not 'swing driven'. He'll still go ... but he deserved to stay this week! He has shown commitment. Norma
January 22, 201015 yr Even I cant claim to be that bothered Nessa's gone  Half the time she seemed to be wondering why she even bothered singing up for the show  Now that the sole reason I was watching the show has been eliminated, I doubt i'll be tuning in again.
January 22, 201015 yr Author I will be, I think it's a brilliant show. I must admit I enjoyed tonights more than I expected so I'll stick with it. Loving Kym, Bernie and Marcella :D
January 22, 201015 yr Got to agree with Snowball and Ryan! I'll definitely be tuning in until the end ... even if my favourite goes along the way (which is very, very possible next week.) This is a really nice change for a reality show. Judges who know what they're talking about (well the two professionals anyway) and a nice chance to experience some really good music (even if some of it isn't strictly opera). Having said I have a favourite ... I am watching this quite impartially and can appreciate improvements from week to week. Although Danny's performance on the first show was a bit dodgy to say the least, he has shown commitment and he really is trying and tonight's performance was certainly enough to justify him staying in. I think I like all the contestants (just wish Alex James was still in). Norma
January 22, 201015 yr The contestant who I've been most impressed with so far is Marcella. Her vocal style in Shakespears Sister was verging on operatic. It's good to see Marcella taking part and I hope she continues to do well. All the other contestants are more well known thanks to television shows whereas Marcella is probably the least well known. I want Marcella to benefit from this show in a similar all the other contestants benefitted from TV shows 9/10 years ago.

I think Marcella is going to be in here for quite some time (and she deserves it). The nice thing about this particular reality show ... is it gets an audience of people who are genuinely interested in all types of music (as Maestro did) and give classical a chance. Even if Marcella is in the bottom two at any time ... we know that, quite rightly, the judges will even things out. Norma
