Some people on here need their ears tested, the performance was laughable, and well out of sync.

She mimed, and then? Lily Allen (that I love though) only came on a rocket and walked around the stage, so yeah of course she sang live, but it doesn't make it an amazing performance. I mean, what if Cheryl sang live but only did the same than Lily : walking around the stage with dancers around? People would still say "booo Cheryl you didn't dance whatsoever". She puts on great shows. And btw it's the only performance (maybe with Kasabian) that got me on my feet for a lil dance! It was ENJOYABLE, and looked impressive.

 

Btw I've now decided the Brits are a joke. When you think about it, you can count GA's nominations with one hand, they have never been given a single award by the BRITs academy in 7 years, and now they snub Cheryl (everyone would agree she had to be nominated for British Breakthrough and British Female at least). JLS getting Best Single over Cheryl, what a JOKE. "Beat again" has been #1 but its sales aren't impressive and its popularity is nowhere as near as FFTL. JOKE.

Girls Aloud havent untill atleast the TA era ever deserved a Britt in my opinion. Also how can Cheryl have been nominated for Breakthrough, shes already been in the music industry for over 7years...

Im a fan of the group and of Cheryl and for me when your performing at a ceremony thats billed as the biggest event of the year on the UK music calendar you should sing live, also you are supposidly performing in front of the brit academy so singing live is important. Cheryl did perform well but the miming was atrrocious and completly out of sync and ii dont understand why she is always miming as she can sing live. Britney got slated for miming so badly on x factor and i was one of those many people who slated her at the time for doing so and just because im a fan of cheryl i cant agree with how badly she mimed tonight.

 

I understand there are times when an artist has to mime but im always cautious when an artist continuosly mimes and in a way what annoyed me about cheryl miming tonight is she judges on a show that is about performing live to a far bigger audience than the brits awards and her job is to applaud and critiscise a performer fairly on their performance, well id like to know how she would respond if it was someone else that mimed so badly like she did tonight,

 

As i said at the start of this message i am a fan of cheryl and i always in general post very positively about cheryl and the group but because im a fan it doesnt mean i have to love everything that they do or agree with everything they say, im a huge take that fan for example and some of us in the take that forum often have things that annoy us about the way they perform and we can let of constructive steam on the forum but at the same time we will heap praise on them when they do things well and i have no problem giving cheryl praise when due like i have often done in the past.

im so disapointed cheryl is miming on the brits, why wont she sing live

 

JLS mimed too and anybody is complaining. Some performances were strange ad sounded strange too, I don't think the mute delay is a good idea. The vocals were pre-recorded right, and? Initially the performance was live with a support track but with all these personal problems they decided to pre-record all her vocals.

 

Maybe the performance should have been cancelled

 

Why you keep saying she always mime? Both CIN performance were live (FFTL with a support track), X Factor performance and FFTL at Cheryl Cole's night were live with a support track the first one and with some pre-recorded bits the second one. And 3 Words with will.i.am was live too.

 

She mimed FFTL at the Brits and at T4 and Parachute at Cheryl Cole's night.

I think there was also the issue of syncing between audio (mic) and visual (camera) - I'm pretty sure 'some' of it was live, Robbie had a slight delay too. Whatever the case, I feel awful for her - what a terrible thing to happen on top of everything she's got going on :-( her and Gaga made me so depressed last night :-(

she didnt mime too well but overall it was a great performance, and like someone said earlier Spice Girls won best performance and that was mimed!

Ratings for last night's show were 5.8m (up 600k on last year), peaking at 6.3m at 9:30 (Cheryl's performance)

And Jack, I'm sorry, but you seriously can't think it was worse than Britney's X Factor performance?! :mellow:

Britney just walked around the stage, badly miming...yes, Cheryl's miming may not have been brilliant, but with a dance routine like that (plus a breakdown in the middle) who really cares?!

 

At least it was an entertaining performance with something different to other performances of the song (the whole mash-up with 'Show Me Love'). If anything, I think Cheryl gets far too MUCH criticism, not the other way around.

I just think it's ridiculous when Britney's performance got slated but when it's Cheryl it's fine. That said, her performance wasn't the worst of the night, that goes to JLS. I think I even would've preffered her to win Best Single over them, seeing as they only won mainly because of their looks.

It was phenomenal, easily the best of the night and my favourite of all her 'Fight For This Love' TV performances.

 

It's a travesty she didn't win Best Single, maybe quite apt though considering it took the Girls near on 7 years to get one.

Bert? Aren't you just doing what you told Jack off for doing? You're not respecting Aled's opinion, which sadly I agree with. I'm a big fan of both Cheryl and Girls Aloud, and have been since they were first formed, but her miming was awful at the BRITs. Don't get me wrong, the routine was absolutely fantastic, and I can understand why she would have to mime when doing a routine like that, but the miming was terrible. She wasn't in sync at all.

 

It doesn't stop me loving her though :wub:
