January 22, 201015 yr One of the rules of this board is that you are not allowed to be abusive to other members. He was just abusive towards me. Have you got nothing better to do than try to pick a fight? That is a really sad and depressing few posts all I read is me me me, no matter what you think of Cowell, maybe think of what you can be doing to help. Jedward may be vile but your behaviour is really low and childish.

January 22, 201015 yr Quoted for Truth  I love that people can't have an opinion on here without being personally attacked and bullied by other posters. I don't agree with half of the opinions in this thread but I am not calling anyone names or lowering myself to that level. So have a look at yourself before your criticise others.

I have a very strong opinion and can be quite obnoxious but no one attacks me or bullies me.
January 22, 201015 yr Guys can ppl please calm down a little. I am sensing tension, and people are getting very angry and agressive over a trivial matter. If it doesn't stop then i'll invisibleise the thread and look over and see what actions need to be taken as the thread is slowly becoming a slagging match. .over.
January 22, 201015 yr anyway... I've always liked Everybody Hurts, I loved the Corrs cover version, more than the original in fact - so I don't mind it being the single, particularly with the interesting bunch of acts lined up so far - Florence for the 'no no no you're not alone' ad libs at the end please

I may try and use it in conversation tomorrow.
January 22, 201015 yr Everyvody Hurts? :( I always feel like i should like that song but i just cant. Hopefully this version will be decent!
January 22, 201015 yr simon is using this situation, i just saw the ITN news they played a clip of leona's track as part of the item on his charity single. they didn't have to do that giving her promo on the news that not the point of the charity. the PR makes him sound like this God the nation should bow down and worship his goodwill efforts without questioning anything. but simon has his contacts with ITV after all he is their saviour of saturday TV and is using these contacts to promote and raise the profile of SYCO acts. shameless man. the whole point of charity is to give and not directly or indirectly benefit yourself too. just donate a million like sandra bullock and leonardo decaprio and have some integrity for once.

LOL but it's not Simon who produced the interview, it's the production crew of ITN who chooses the song behind their interviews. If Simon wasn't showing any compassion or anything for what happenned in Haïti, people would slag him off. Now he's trying to do something, and he still get criticised. And the most ugly thing I have read in this thread is "ooh but 50.000£ is like 5£ for any of us so it's $h!t really". It might not be a lot for him, but IT IS a lot of money for the charity, and it will help lots of poeple, so in the end what's wrong with him giving 50k to the charity? Yes he hasn't given his whole fortune to the charity, but who has? He still made a significant contribution. I used to dislike Simon too, but the hatred on this forum for Simon is just madness sometimes. The man can't do anything good it seems. Give him a break. It should all be about Haïti now, not if you like Simon or not.

I'm pretty sure Simon Cowell is not at the forefront of everyone's minds. Many people have a problem in that he just throws money at things. He is no humanitarian. I think a point a poster noted that Leona Lewis was being played in the background on a news feature was a great one. This is once again promoting Simon's act. Simon Cowell has ruined music and many people can see that only music fans brought up in the 00's can't see right through him.
January 22, 201015 yr Why the f*** has Rod Stewart agreed to do this? 1. He's ancient, 2. He's better than that.
January 22, 201015 yr Why the f*** has Rod Stewart agreed to do this? 1. He's ancient, 2. He's better than that. I'm thinking that he is making up for not being on X Factor as he was tied to SCD for a few years due to his wife. Yeh he is better than that.

How do you know Simon isn't an humanitarian, he may give charities money in secret so to not ruin his public appearance of being the 'mean judge'. ITV are most probably got a choice of songs to use that are most cheap for them to use and as Simon works for ITV there isn't going to be as much red tape either. Also the inclusion of Leona in the charity song is a perfectly good reason to use one of her songs in the interview. How exactly has Simon ruined music? There is still the same of great music around as any decade, it depends on what your tastes are and how much you are willing to look for it. As I was born in early 90's I would say i'm a noughties kid and I can see exactly what Simon is, a businessman, his job is to make money out of music and he is doing a terrific job at it and has been for a while and will be for a while longer.
January 22, 201015 yr Author I'm thinking that he is making up for not being on X Factor as he was tied to SCD for a few years due to his wife. Yeh he is better than that. Rod Stewart week was in 2006 when he mentored and performed. ;) Maybe Rod is doing it just because he wants to be involved and put his voice to something that will make even more cash? Imagine that, not just Cowell's puppets!

Do you actually know what a humanitarian is? I'll give you an example Mother Theresa who spent her life being one. Throwing money at a charity is not a humanitarian. If that was the case then everyone who donated money to charity is a humanitarian. I have yet to see Simon Cowell visiting these places he throws money at. He didn't even go to Great Ormond Street. He has ruined an aspect of the music industry with the tripe his acts release. He ruined the Christmas number one for many years. His vile shows have also given pople the impression that you don't have to work to make it in music all you need is a nice smile and a four month tv show. There are many businessmen in music who have respect that they have earned eg Clive Davis. Simon Cowell is a famewhore who has self admitted that he doesn't even like music. Do you not see that from him saying throughout the X Factor 'Oh I never knew that song'.
