Madonna To Perform At Haiti Telethon

We are happy to confirm that Madonna will join the upcoming star studded Telethon to air on every major network this coming Friday evening. Organized and hosted by George Clooney, the Telethon is set to raise millions for the citizens of Haiti, which were affected by the recent earthquake.

I wonder what she will perform it wouldn't surprise me if she did "Music". I know this is a bad thing to say but this could do the Celebration album a lot of good and maybe adding extra sales to the song(s) that she will do with a bit of luck it would be good to see any songs of hers re-entering some singles charts.
I wonder too what she will be perform may be Don't Tell Me.

Haiti Telethon Broadcast Details

The two-hour telethon (in which Madonna will perform) will air on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT on Friday 22 January 2010 at 8:00pm ET/PT and 7:00pm CT.

In the UK, 'Help For Haiti Now' will air on MTV from 1:00am on Saturday 23 January.

It will also be broadcast on further digital channels and online.

The event, which is hosted by George Clooney and Wyclef Jean, will be staged in New York City, Los Angeles and London. All musical performances will be available to purchase on iTunes from Saturday 23 January, with proceeds donated to the Haiti earthquake relief funds.

As predicted Madonna performed an amazing acoustic version of her "Like A Prayer" classic at the Hope For Haiti Now telethon.She was joined by backing singer Nicki Richards, guitarist Monte Pittman and a gospel choir.

It would be great if the song could re-enter some charts.

According to MTV.com, the "Hope for Haiti Now" album is currently the #1 iTunes album in 22 countries, marking the biggest one-day album pre-order in iTunes history.

 

The 20-track album is currently at the top spot in the US, the UK, Australia, Austria, Belgium. Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland and #2 in France. The entire album is available for only $7.99, and tracks can also be purchased separately. In Italy, "Like A Prayer" is currently #11 on the iTunes Top Singles chart.

Madonna's stunning gospel live of "Like A Prayer" from the "Hope For Haiti" telethon is now also available in MP3 format from Amazon UK.As well as the entire album available for download for £5.99 fans from the UK can in fact also download Madonna's individual track for just £0.79.

So far this week it's peaked at #96 on the UK itunes store. Ok, I know sales ain't great but atlest her all time sales are growing. At the last official figures count Like A Prayer sold 513,231 by the end of August 15th 2008 in the UK making her 9th best selling single in the UK. *Sales maybe a few thousand more as we have had the '08 & '09 Sticky & Sweet tours hit the UK which like a prayer which was in both set lists and of course the Celebration album included the song too*.
