my faveourite fever single still that i was sure again of a number 1 considering it had the cantget blue monday out of my head as the b side another great sophisticated pop song that showed people kylie does pop at its best,simple catchy video aswell was good,its real happy song and is always good to hear,i hate that it was kept of number 1 by that horrible re hashed elvis song

the weakest fever single but still good,i loved the fever tour performance of this as it was a great opening,weird video btaht i liked also,in some ways it had a similar cound to cant get you outof my head but just wasnt as catchy and with it sounding a little like cgyoomy i though thye should have gone for releasing burning up instead,still cantget you out of my head served its purpose sales of fever went up AGAIN and it also went top 10 keeping her new run of top 10 hits intact

on on to body language the album that overall disappointed fans after the brilliant light years and fever

slow

 

a new era for kylie,completly diferent style from the fever singles but just as good in different ways,slow was one of those songs that slipped inside your head and would stay there,great and clever video,it was a sexy kinda song that kinda gets a sexy performance by kylie,i would have loved to have heard an almighty remix of this song

red blooded woman

 

not an instant like for me but over time has become a really good kylie song for me,i think this track was a great radio freidly song and also the usual non kylie fans kinda liked this,i love the picture sleeves for this single,nice song not her best and not her worst

chocolate

 

the song i think no wanted to be released but was and did alot better than expected,this is a great kylie song that continues to grow and grow on me since the showgirl tour,i much prefer the single version to the album version,its the same kind of sounding as breathe and put yourself in my place but better than both in my own opinion

now on 2 the last 2 singles that are off the ultimate kylie album

 

i believe in you

 

great great song and a great return to her best style of pop,the body language singles were different and werent in the pop mould of the light years fever era but this brilliant track was in line with the fever material electro pop

only for band aid 20 this would have been number 1 and rightly so,its a catchy uplifting pop song that was very popular among music fans in general and went down well in clubs,i would like the new album to be similar sounding

now from what i have been reading here at this forum giving you up doesnt seem to be a very popular kylie single but i really really like it and liked it from the word go,i did expect it to chart higherthan number 6 as it had a number 3 midweek position that week,i found it a slow buid to a catchy chorus,i wasnt keen on the video though,it only made number 20 here in ireland which i wasnt happy with at all

well there i have done it,i have given a little opinion of all kylie's singles so i hope ye all enjoyed it and i would love if some or all of ye joined in and posted some comments on the singles also,i willalso be posting my opinions on all the kylie albums to date but i donthink i coul dtype all that tonight,i hope you all enjoyed reading my comments on the singles

i like to express my opinions on kylie's material and i will post my opinions on album track through this thread also,i hope others would like doing the same thing and if so please post on this thread,

now i will expresss my opinion on the tracks in general on kylie debut album

 

to start i like the sleeve and to this day it represents kylie very well,she looks sweet young and innocent all of which she was when this album was released,it also had a nice inlay sleeve for its time

the tracks i mention are not including the singles as i have done them

 

overall it was and still is a great 80's pop album and has 10 good 80's pop classics

 

i miss you is a typical slow sttyle pop song of the 80's and in a tiny way pushes kylie;s voice a little bit

ill still be loving you is catchy in the same way its no secret is and in some way is very similar sound although its no secret is probably a little bit stronger

 

love at first sight definitly not as good as the fever track and single love at first sight but good at the time,overall the best songs were released as singles but its still a good pop album to listen to occasionally 18 years on

enjoy yourself

 

i prefered the kylie album front cover but much prefer the inner sleeve to the enjoy yourself album,it was great that kylie had got her 2nd uk number 1 album with this as kylie really was huge at the time of this release

 

overall it is a better album than kylie when i first heard them ,it had some great singles of it but there was another track that would have made an amazing single

im over dreaming over you would have made a great single and i think would have been a big hit if it had been released

 

tell tale signs of my love is on similar ground to tears on my pillow which im not a huge fan of either tracks

 

enjoy youself is another track that would have made an amazing single and as im a fan of double a sides i think either enjoy yourself or over dreaming over you would have been idea for this

 

it in general was step up in pop music terms from the kylie album and i still like alot of the tracks on enjoy yourself especially im over dreaming over you and enjoy yourself

 

the older album seem so much shorter than the newer albums but that was the way things seemed to be done with album in the 80's

rhythm of love

 

the album thats is often classed as the fans faveourite,,

 

i think enjoy yourself and kylie had better covers as they represented kylie well for that time,but the rhythm of love sleeve didnt represent kylie's musical image for the album,

 

the inner sleeve does so better as it shows and reflects a change in kylie that also showed in the music

 

the singles of this album were probably some of her stronger singles and gained more critical acclaim than the previous allbums singles ,and the album did quite well but didnt match the success of kylie and enjoy yourself,number 9 was disappointing enough after having 2 number 1's albums previous to its release

as for the tracks on the album the stand out non single track is well there is 2 of them

both strong enough to have been singles or again been double a sides singles,,they were catchy and classic pop of that era

 

secrets was aa nice song but not in the same leage it more plodded

 

the worls still turns sounds siimilar to tears on my pillow style which im not a big fan of and is probably the weakest track on the album

one boy girl,count the days and thythm of love are all good enough songs but they lack the hood the singles of the album have and also lack the classic pop hook of always find the time and things can only get better

 

the latter 2 are the kinda songs i would still like to see kylie perform to this day

lets get to it

in some terms the most disappointing saw album of kylie;s the picture sleeve is nice but thats it and the inner sleeve is alot weaker than that of rhythm of love

 

the album been kylie's first and only studio album to this day not to reach top 10 status bit in a way was obvious as its contains the underrated word is out which was also kylie's first ever single to miss the top 10 altogether

 

 

the singles apart from word is out are some of her waeker singles although if you were with me now was a nice ballad that did quite well,

 

i know i guess i like it was released as a track featuring kylie but why it was done this way i dont know as i think had it been released as just a kylie single it would have done better than the drab finer feelings and the waek give me just a little more time,

now the non singles tracks

 

i think too much of a good thing is a good track on this album and was catchy but the album title track was the best and should have been a single,it was again a more mature sound than previous songs and might of shown the public the edgier side of kylie that in many terms was the way this album was rated by critics

 

this album was by far and wide kylie's best recieved album by the critics but sadly not among the fans but its easy enough to see why as it was the start of kylie moving away from the pop songs she once did

right here right now,live and learn were good songs but not as good as as kylie others stuff they trodded along but never really went anywhere and they werent the usual sing along kylie songs or did they contain any major hook that would keep the songs in your head

 

no world without you,,well as i have said i not a major fan of kylie's ballads from the saw era.she has done some brilliant ballads on the latest few album but the older ones are the songs i usually skip as they dont appeal to me very much
