in some ways i think this album was before its time

 

i really really like the picture and inner sleev to this album,kylie's image is spot on,she looks sexy and very mature on this album sleeve and in some ways it reflects the modd of this album

but on an overall basis this is the most disappointing kylie album for me

 

confide in me is a good song but im not sure if it was released by another artist that i would like it,

 

put yourseelf in my place is a loveley song with a fantastic video and is the second best track on this album with time will pass you by been the definite oustanding track here and why itwasnt a single i cant figure out,it in my book would have been the song that would have made this album a far bigger hit and bigger than what it was

 

 

 

if i was your lover and nothing can stop us were 2 others very good songs on this album that i liked alot but the others really dont float my boat at all,dangerous would be better tahn the others but still not what i want or expect from kylie

 

 

where is the feeling is by far the worst kylie single,

 

automayic love,where has the love gone,falling and love is waitiing all disappointed me overall,and its an album that i dont play an awfu lot but on the odd occasion i do i skip the songs i have just mentioned

 

its the only kylie album i probably wouldnt own had it been released another artist but i respect the album for what kylie wante dit to be and what she wanted at that time but i am also thankfull it is not a sound she stook with for another album

before i comment on the songs,in some ways im gald the album is a cult album as in some ways its always nice for an artist who is around for a long time to have a cult fan base following only as it makes it a special album

 

 

i know this doesnt help sales terms and as we know it was in some a disaster for kylie and others it was the album that made kylie release what was to follow

the tracks

 

 

 

limbo and i dont need anyone are the definite stand out tracks here both brilliant in 2 very different ways,limbo been more upbeat and a little near dance than indie

 

i dont need anyone was indie nearing pop but very enjoying and i would have liked to have seen both or even one released as a single

cowboy style

 

im was never sure why this was released in australia and especially when it didnt even have a proper video,i dont need anyone was the one due to be released but this was instead,its agood songs nothing special but kylie performed it very well on th eintimate and live tour and put forward a better side to the song

say hey

 

another enjoyable song but a song that took a fee more listens to get used than some of the others but after a few plays it became very enjoyable but very dark at the same time

 

 

through the yearsis probaly my least faveourite track on the album simply becuase it isnt as enjoyable as the others

 

 

dreams again a song that was one of my least faveourite tracks however showgirl changed that as i really liked the little clip it got on showgirl and it gained alot more interest in the song for me

 

 

this is probably the strangest kylie album for me and to be honest its the kind of music that i never thought of much before kylie,

 

it wasnt an instant hit with me at all when i bought it,i was very much thinking what is kylie doing,kylie minogue wasnt the kylie i wanted and neither was this so i thought but i enjoyed all the singles so i played the album more and more and then i got hooked,

 

kylie's most under rated album by far but is a definite must have for anyone who likes kylie and im very glad this album was done so i thank de contruction days for this,i love pop kylie the most but this album appeals to me in a very very differnt way than all the others

my faveourite kylie album yet

 

this to me is a pop masterpiece and i couldnt have asked for a better return to pop music for this

 

the sleeve was excellent and picture sleev its a great image to kylie and it introduces the album very well,i really really liked it from the minute i seen it

i was very surprised the on a night like this didnt see more of the light years songs been performed and she left out the very very stand out tracks and went for just the stand out tracks,they all are!!

good pop song,catchy chorus nice build up to the chorus and a melody that stays in your head,i wouldnt pick this as a single but its a good album track

disco down one of three songs that i would have loved loved loved to have been singles but werent but at least anyone who has this album hae the great tracks

 

disco down would have charted well,its a brillinat pop song,and also could have been better than please stay in the christmas market as it has that little christmassy sounding bell in there

 

its very catchy especially the chorus,a song that suits kylie's voice very well,its happy very song along all the stuff that makes most of kylies singles so brilliant

i find these two tracks very similar,good songs that are best as album tracks than singles,very nice songs but different appeal than say disco down as they arent as solid pop song as disco down,they are also a different sound in general to some of the stronger pop songs,these got performed on on a night like this which is fine but i woul dhave picked other songs to have been performed over them

the mosy talked about and hyped up track of the whole album,i think this song was a big song for kylie's gay following which is fine as they have done alot for kylie and have been extremely loyal to her so in a way i think this was her thank you to them,been straioght myself i dint see the huge appeal of this song but i recognised its strong pop quality and its stay in your head powermi prefer the almighty remix to the album track myself

bittersweet goodbye

 

now asi said earlier im not usually a fan of kylie's ballads but thats her pwl ballads,this is a lovely lovely sweet song and is really mellow and relaxing and stand out as its the only slow songs on the album,this along with the brilliant paper dolls are 2 of my faveourite slow kylie songs

butterfly

 

another belter of a song and i loved the performace kylie gave on the on a night like this tour,this was near dance kylie as it was stronger than pop but not full on dance either,its a great song,happy energetic catchy and indeed a solid song that again i would have liked to have been released although i do think it was released as such to radio

under the influence

 

another very very strong track and was the song i like dthe most wheni first heard the album,very sing along,again suite kylie's voice very very well,its catchy its melow but very pop and always reminds me of some other song from years back that i can never put my finger on,great track
