Posted January 27, 201015 yr i got my copy of it in the post today :cheer: and i absolutley adore it. it is a perfect exsmple of what a dance album should be, full of great songs like All I Wanna Do Disrememberance Everything I Wanted Am I Dreaming? Someone New and the unique Everybody Changes Underwater i could go on... AIWD did pretty well in the charts so i was wondering why the album did so poorly? what is everyones opinions? i think it may be because Dannii was not so well recieved after Get Into You and people thought she wasn't able to do a whole album that was as amazing as the single. AND it has one of the hottest covers in the UNIVERSE! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fZgFJQhKrNI/R-gDC3vLLjI/AAAAAAAAAP8/teAELQUe_xQ/s400/dm1.jpg discuss
January 27, 201015 yr At that time i think dannii was well known as she is now which was a hamper to start, the singles and the album to me seemed to have been not promoted, i know all i wana do did quite well but everything else went basically unknown. Her record company didnt seem to have much interest in dannii so i think alot of this resulted in the album doing badly.
January 28, 201015 yr to be honest I dont know on this one. "All I wanna do" was massive but I just dont think people connected with her esp her image. Girls who norm liked her and bought her music just thought she was slutty etc especially with the Playboy pictures. I dont think the music was a problem becuase it was definetly promoted. i just think her image pushed he girl fans away. In a way just like people turned away from Kylie in the "Rhythm of love" era
January 29, 201015 yr I think "girl" is my favourite of her albums by far. Not sure why it didnt do well really.
February 3, 201015 yr Author i agree, it is such a different direction from GIY, it would have done better i think if the 1995 sessions ablum had been released
February 5, 201015 yr The only reason I can honestly think of is that 'All I Wanna Do' was a popular song regardless of who the artist was, but I don't think anyone liked Dannii enough to buy an album by her at that point.
February 6, 201015 yr I have to say i actually agree with you on that, i admit i was one of those people, x factor brought dannii to life for me, to be honest i was one of those people who got completly fooled by the press, dont get me wrong i never believed she and kylie werent close but i in a way believed that she was cold and not really a friendly person so that put me off her alot. But that aside i wasnt partucualry a fan of her music i still dont really like all i wana do and i didnt like it at the time of release, the neon nights era is when i saw dannii music wise in a different light which lead me to buying her greatest hits and disrememberence is a song i really like now but didnt really know of it at the time it was released as a single. There are many good song on the hits album but it didnt convince me enough to buy any of the album previous to neon nights. X factor brought out dannii;s personality especially this year she really started to shine and i have warmed her more each series, i think if she does release music again x factor will have benefited for her as she has really won alot of people over which should open up some music fans for her and some more sales aswell.
February 23, 201015 yr I dont think Dannii will ever really be a successful albums artist. She will have some success in the singles market but isnt popular enough for an album to a major success.
April 5, 201015 yr The problem was releasing it after just one single, the public were not prepared to fork out good money for a Dannii Minogue album when they knew just one song on it. Her image at the time was a problem too, she was seen as a tart and not taken seriously at all, that really hurt her too.
