March 6, 201015 yr Thanks Lewymocha for posting the link to the Jay Leno performance, first time I've heard the song and I love it. The set was incredible as well. Just downloaded from iTunes, but I have got to say I can see why people dislike it, even though the phrase is over used 'Alice' really is pure marmite.
March 6, 201015 yr I'm really happy she's coming back. Hopefully her new song is a stomper. Alice is just awful but I like it (a bit).
March 6, 201015 yr I said earlier in this thread that I didnt think I would listen to the song on my way to work, on the bus etc, because it was too shouty. After two days of having it on my ipod the other week I had listened to it 7 times  any album news yet? Edited March 6, 201015 yr by *Trouble*
March 6, 201015 yr I like this a lot more after seeing the movie and hearing it at the end. Sadly Avril's vocals really spoil it at points.
March 7, 201015 yr I'm still trying to envision pink crust... :/ Am looking forward to her ACTUAL return though. 3 solid albums is a good indication even if I do feel as if I have outgrown her style and sound somewhat. LOL Her new record is not called "Pink Crust". It was a rumour made up on avrilbandaids.com :)

March 7, 201015 yr Love this song more and more with each listen  It's currently #57 on iTunes two places from #59 earlier today. I wonder if it will stall now or if it will keep rising and crack the Top 40. Edited March 7, 201015 yr by Daniel{MKG}17

March 7, 201015 yr If she done some promo for the single in UK, she could go top 10 with it! Currently #25 on U.S. Itunes!
March 9, 201015 yr Went to see 'Alice in Wonderland' today and have to say this song sounded brilliant in the cinema. All the shoutyness that people mention wasn't noticeable, and it sounded beautiful yet edgy and the lyrics seemed to fit in with the movie. Really looking forward to hearing her other self-written songs on the new album. Good job Avril. :)
March 11, 201015 yr Thank GOD she doesn't. The artists named, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Beyonce are all completely talentless. Sorry Lady Gaga is actually a great talent, the other two are complete wasters. 'Alice' is a self-written song by Avril. Her first attempt at writing with no song-writers. I think she's evolved in the right direction unlike the current music industry which is sadly dominated by the likes of Max Martin, Dr. Luke being ghost writers for artists who claim to have talent but are just faces of actual talented song-writers such as Luke, and Max. Avril is definitly going against the grain, and showing that it's cool to be talented. 'Alice' won't make much impact on the industry or the pop scene, her new album though, due to be released in June is getting great reviews and has some of her "best songs" as said by the likes of Rolling Stone and other key reviewers. 6 of the songs are written by her only, and 3 of them produced by her. She's such a talented young lady, and she's a brave and risky artist for taking a stance against these mega pop names that actually have very little talent when it comes to music in general. Here's a live version of 'Alice' on Jay Leno. It's actually better than the studio version. Avril is such a raw talent now, and Im glad that she has moved away from her TBDT image which really was an attempt to fit into today's industry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbtykrNjWao She's now fighting a hard battle against these pop names, but she's Avril Lavigne and UMS was not a pop record and she got two big singles, "Don't Tell Me" and "My Happy Ending" from it, while selling 10 million copies of the CD. Don't underestimate Avril Lavigne lol! It's a big mistake. She'll defo be back in the charts and while she won't sell #1 singles, her album will probably sell twice as much as any of these pop names. yes slagging her off is a very, very big mistake, I love that new song. BTW when is alice released in the UK
March 12, 201015 yr I'm a HUUUUUUUGE Alice in Wonderland fan (any version. ever.) but I'm very disappointed that #1 Avril was chosen for the song and #2 How the song came out. I don't necessarily agree with everyone's "shouty" issue in here ... it sounds decent enough. I just think someone of a much higher caliber (i.e. not on the downward spiral) should have been attached to this amazing project. I'm sure it was an attempt to revive her career but I'm not buying it.
March 14, 201015 yr Revive her career? Her career wasn't dead.....She came off tour in November 2008, with 50,000 capacity venues in Asia in late 2008. She then wrote a jingle for her new perfume 'Black Star' in 2009. You can hear the jingle on youtube. She then launched the fragrance in June 2009. Since then she's been writing a self-written album that she wrote at home instead of with professional song-writers. She did have some co-writers such as her best friend Evan Taubenfeld, and co-writer of MHE on 6 of the songs, and the other 6 are self-written, and now including Alice too. Since then she got divorced, so the record that was supposed to be released November 17th, got pushed back to June 2010, to give her time after her upsetting break-up. She then wrote the song for Alice in Wonderland. And now in 6 weeks her new single will premier from her 4th studio album. Her career was never dead... so there was nothing to revive. BTW she's doing interviews about her new album. She said it was time for her to move on from the whole pop scene, and attract a more mature public. She said it won't be a regular pop album with lots of different styles, she said its more real. So there you go :)

Last time I checked she had had all three of her albums go to number 1 in the UK and had sold about 6 million copies of The Best Damn Thing. Not a bad spiral to be on really, is it?
