Commentary: Jaheim climbs to the top with a slice of old school soulful R and B whilst Edward Maya is in hot pursuit at two with a slice of new style

Romanian dance. Biggest climber of the week belongs to Sheri, Swedish singer of Iranian descent, with the catchy "U got me good". K'naan is up from 20 to 12

with "Wavin Flag" which has been chosen as the official song for the 2010 World Cup. Three new entries this week, the highest of which comes from West

London rapper Example , also the highest new entry on last week's UK chart. At 17 and a future possible highest entry on the UK charts is Welsh singer songwriter

Marina Diamantis. Finally at 18 is ex O Zone singer Dan Bilan whose new single has sparked discussion from the fact that he himself sings only the words Chica Bomb

on the track whilst the singing is done by an uncredited girl who features in a hot video.

:) Good chart

Hi moth09 :D

Here's what I'm liking in your chart.

03 02 01 06 If We Ever Meet Again (Timbaland ft Katy Perry)

Timbaland can be really hit n' miss with me. For every good song he's done ('Apologize', 'The Way I Are' and this), he's also produced some right horrid crap ('Promiscuous Girl', 'Give It To Me', 'Morning After Dark'). It's down to his vocals - on some songs he sound ok when he sings, but on other tracks he sounds like he's being electricuted whilst he's singing which is really unpleasant to my poor ears. :(

05 06 06 05 10/10 (Paolo Nutini)

Not as good as 'Pencil Full Of Lead' which is easily my fave Paolo Nutini track. His album 'Sunny Side Up' is surprisingly very good.

06 01 01 06 Monday Morning (Melanie Fiona)

I like this a bit but overall find it a tad on the bland side. Surprising this managed to get to no. 1 in Switzerland. I much preferred 'Give It To Me Right' which made no. 10 in my chart last year.

07 08 07 05 Black Box (Stan Walker)

Debuted at no. 20 last week. Have yet to write up my new chart so who knows where 'Black Box' will be in my new chart (even I don't know yet!!! )

13 10 01 10 October and April (Rasmus ft Anette Olzon)

Really like this track. Peaked at no. 2 for me a fortnight ago and still currently in my top 5. One of The Rasmus' best tracks - their most successful for me since 'In The Shadows'. I would say 'Guilty' as that also got to no. 1 in my chart but it's the only no. 1 I personally feel didn't deserve to be in retrospect (I was sadly influenced by another Rasmus obsessive at the time) and as such it had an incredibly short chart run 06-03-01-10-OUT!!! 'October & April' is easily a much better track than 'Guilty' was.

14 --- 14 01 Won't go Quietly (Example)

I like this quite a bit now although it took a while for the song to click with me. Entered at no. 10 for me last week so whether it can maintain its place inside my top 10 is left to be seen.

17 --- 17 01 Hollywood (Marina and the Diamonds)

I can see 'Hollywood' being a big hit in my chart over the coming months. One of my fave new releases I hope it can be a hit in the UK when released.

Thank you for your interesting comments.

I haven't been that keen on a lot of Timbaland's productions either but "if we ever meet again " has a feelgood factor for me.

As for Paolo Nutini I never paid much attention to him before "Sunny Side Up". His music was in one ear out the other for me.

But "Pencil full of lead" was instantly listenable and a fun track.... the best of the tracks I've heard from the album but I've liked the others I've heard as well.

I prefer "Monday Morning" to "Give it to me right" but both are good .... she is a great singer imo.

"Black box" is a classy song and it's refreshing that a Pop Idol winner is doing a new song as a first release - with good marketing it has potential to be a real

international hit.

I really got into "In the Shadows" when it came out several years ago but the following stuff from Rasmus didn't impress me much. Of course "October and April" is far removed from their usual material and indeed that of Nightwish, who I think I also liked when they started.

I'm liking Example's "Wont go quietly" the more I listen to it. I'd never heard of him before but listened to it on You Tube when I saw that it entered the UK top 10 and its grown on me - I last heard it yesterday on the tannoy during half time at Craven Cottage !

Yes Hollywood is defo going to be a big hit. How much of it is merited and how much is down to hype I'm not sure ! At the moment it is a song that is becoming better each time I listen to it.
