How do you find out the top 300? i can only see the top 100 =[ i dont like the Erik version... at all

This feed shows the top 1000 songs. http://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSt...limit=0/rss.xml

Alors on danse has climbed to #290 now. The highest I've seen was #203 I think.

EDIT: It's finally broken into the top 200, after Floorfillers again. It's #199 (and #951) and climbing.

On this note, I've not understood why people are buying the Clubland 17 version for 99p, when Stromae's version is exactly the same, and it's 79p.

In the hopes that Radio 1 will playlist one would assume?

Presumably also to link in with people coming back from August Bank Holiday jaunts out to Europe...

Well I'm all for the September 'euro-hit finally catching on in the UK after everyone gets back from their summer holiday' trend returning!

I'm surprised we've got We No Speak Americano at pretty much the same time as everywhere else, but then maybe because they're from Australia, it just feels European...

Oh phew! I was getting worried, as the promotion campaign really wasn't going well, for an August release (I mean, it had the same release date as Airplanes, which is already #1 on iTunes).

I take back my words then, there's still like another month for it to get playlisted, although I'll still be quite surprised (but very happy) if it does.

Glad it's moved back. 99% sure that if it gets playlisted it will be the Hassle version, but sure that they'll put both versions on the single.

September release eh? :D

Over the years we've had quite a few European hits do well with a September release - Eiffel 65, Las Ketchup, DJ Otzi. Maybe it's unfair to catagorise Stromae with the latter three as 'Alors On Danse' seems to be a more "serious" sounding track compared to the Europop hits already mentioned.

I think it's the perfect time too, everyone will have heard it on their summer holidays and want to buy it, it's even taking off in Spain now (got it on Disco Estrella, a Spanish dance compilation released each summer). Eiffel 65 is the odd one out there IMHO, they always saw themselves as a synth pop band, and if you get over the tacky production, Blue is really a song about depression... sorry to go on the defensive, but they were my favourite band when I was 15!

Ok then. Vengaboys 'We're Going To Ibiza' which was released the week before. :P

Ideally Radio 1 will swallow their humble pie and playlist it - even if it never gets A listed. B listed is still something.

Vengaboys, touche :)

Yeah, that would be good. Even the 1-Upfront list would be good enough... Unfortunately it looks like they see this as another cheesy eurodance song :(

This might just be my memory failing, but weren't Las Ketchup released in October? :o

I loved Eiffel 65 so much too! I remember being really excited to see Blue on Top of the Pops every week. :) I loved the song. I found it oddly uplifting, but I found the video a bit scary and weird.

And Alors on danse is up to #31 on the Dance singles chart.
