72 Holly Valance 'Kiss Kiss' - 320 points (22 voters, Wildcard Entry (22nd) in Heat 1)

UK Chart Run: {1}-2-5-10-9-10-15-20-21-26-34-38-41-37-50-66->16

72nd? SEVENTY-SECOND?!! How tragic. Although this is hardly my type of music I think this (well Holly in general to be honest) was well ahead of its time. I genuinely think it's one of the decades finest pop songs and would've been far more popular if released a few years later by someone more 'cool'. Nearly 8 years old and I think it's aged rather well.

I should probably admit now that if this and 'When The Sun Goes Down' weren't two of the 'wildcard' entries I very much doubt I would have bothered. :ph34r: :D

This is way too low. It's quite a classic IMO.

69 Melanie C 'I Turn To You' - 338 points (23 voters, 20th in Heat 4)

UK Chart Run: {1}-4-5-8-15-24-30-36-34-48-55-55->12

I barely remember this to be honest... One thing's for certain, she's certainly the most popular solo Spice Girl on BuzzJack. It's done quite well, finishing ahead of five songs that were ahead of it in Heat 4.

Widely regarded as Oasis' finest single of the past decade, and proven here as all of their other number ones fail miserably in the heats.

67 Beyonce & Shakira 'Beautiful Liar' - 340 points (21 voters, 8th in Heat 1)

UK Chart Run: 10-5-{1}-1-1-2-3-3-3-5-8-8-14-14-15-16-22-28-34-42-68->21

It's not been a great countdown for the songs Beyonce has featured on, with four of the five finishing in the bottom 20. I'm shocked this is so low, thought this was a dead cert for a top 40/50 finish, especially given that it was 8th in its heat!

I did love Beautiful Liar, both remixes :wub:

I've come to appreciate I Turn To You a lot more than I did at the time and The Importance Of Being Idle was the only noughties Oasis #1 that actually deserved to get there...

my fave ever Oasis song

and love the Bee/Shakira duet :D

Aayliah, Holly Valance and Melanie C should all be MUCH higher :(

A highlight of a somewhat dull year for number one singles in 2004. Despite finishing 10 places and 87 points behind 'Beautiful Liar' in Heat 1 it's gained one more point in the final. Go figure.

The first of their four entries to appear. I can't say it's too surprising that this is their lowest.

For a long time this looked like it would really stuggle to even qualify for the final. It got there with a fairly comfortable margin of 17 points in the end but I was pretty shocked as I thought this was very well liked on here. Maybe people have realised its novelty a year on?

Along with Lady GaGa they dominated UK Charts last year and both acts saw all three of their number ones qualify for this final. No surprise that BEPs are behind here.

I thought when this just qualified that it would bomb in the final. It hasn't.

I actually like all the songs featured so far (well...Boom Boom Pow at a pish I suppose..) :o

Would have liked for Bad Boys, Survivior and Independant Woman to be higher though :( I swear this is all I do in countdowns like this, moan about this song and the other should have been higher....

Deja Vu is definatly one of Beyonce's weaker singles imo, a rather strange decision to lead the second album with tbh. I think it got outsold by Irreplaceable in the end anyway didnt it? I Kissed A Girl is my least favourite of Katy's singles aswell, until Hot N Cold came along, I really couldnt stand her.

Beautiful Liar aswell, always seems to be forgotten :lol: I take it Crazy In Love is the Beyonce song still to come. If I Were A Boy is so underated as a #1 :(

Being Idle is an Oasis highlight for me and Kiss Kiss, im not its biggest fan and I think Holly has better songs but definatly a classic!

Her debut single and first number one single. I was surprised it was quite as successful as it was, but it's a pleasant enough listen. Thought this would be nearer the bottom to be honest.

You're correct about 'Crazy In Love'. 'If I Were A Boy' only finished 30th in its heat.

Although it looks like that was easily the strongest of the four, only two of the 21 qualifiers have gone so far. Thank God DJ Sammy was in that one! :D

I didn't vote on this but I'm still going to give some comments anyway:

84 Beyonce ft Jay-Z 'Deja Vu' - 199 points (11 voters, Wildcard Entry (25th) in Heat 4)

Well-deserved bottom place I would say. Very poor lead single all round.

80 Justin Timberlake 'SexyBack' - 256 points (18 voters, 20th in Heat 3)

Agreed that this was better than a lot of his songs. Should be higher.

78 Destiny's Child 'Survivor' - 269 points (17 voters, 15th in Heat 4)

I like this song a lot actually, but maybe that's more because it has certain personal memories attached to it for me.

74 Aaliyah 'More Than A Woman' - 289 points (15 voters, 19th in Heat 3)

Never liked this at all. She has far better. Very odd No.1 looking back, but obvious why it got there.

73 Arctic Monkeys 'When The Sun Goes Down' - 320 points (14 voters, Wildcard Entry (21st) in Heat 3)

Should be a lot higher, though I guess it didn't do too bad for this forum's music taste.

72 Holly Valance 'Kiss Kiss' - 320 points (22 voters, Wildcard Entry (22nd) in Heat 1)

Liked this, but I preferred pretty much every other single she released. This one was always a bit too much of a novelty for me.

71 Britney Spears 'Ooops... I Did It Again' - 322 points (17 voters, 13th in Heat 4)

This is dire! :lol: So ridiculously cheesy. It really was a song of its time. The talking bit still makes me laugh though all these years on.

70 Daniel Bedingfield 'Gotta Get Thru This' - 338 points (19 voters, 17th in Heat 4)

Loved this song :wub: Shame most of his other material was mushy crap.

69 Melanie C 'I Turn To You' - 338 points (23 voters, 20th in Heat 4)

Another song I love, though it's one that I've more "grown to love" over the years. Should be higher.

65 Black Eyed Peas 'Boom Boom Pow' - 347 points (18 voters, 17th in Heat 2)

Eek. Forget what I said about Deja-Vu being deservedly last. This should have come last! :mellow:

Lot's of hate for Boom Boom Pow. Why? It's a massive tune, same with MMH. Don't know why tat is this low. A lot of the songs that are higher are worse.

None of Eminem's so far? That is surprising.
