Yes, an iTunes Eurovision chart would be awesome  I wonder if we'll have any entries before the contest in the UK :(

Tomorrow, when I have more time, I'll look through a few countries iTunes charts, and if enough have some Eurovision songs in them, I shall set up a thread :)

'Sexy' is the inappropiate word. What next? Inter**urse? :kink:
What the hell? Just decided to take a listen, to see what people were looning about - and I have no idea why. God, it's even worse than Josh Dubovie.
I can't be bothered to watch these karaoke performances :( Germany very rarely send anything decent anyway...

This is quite amazing.

But certainly not this :nono:

Love for Robot =

That is actually quite funny. I forgive you for the earlier comment

Indeed, I didn't bother with the German national final until the final show! Next you'll bring up a quote of my initial reaction to Satellite on the first listen but don't worry I'll save you the hassle;

Jennifer Braun - Satellite - ballad alert for song two :drama: she is singing this terribly, not good at all. This would get completely lost in the ballad pack and come last I reckon. 5/10

Lena - Satellite - well it's not a ballad anymore! it's been turned into a jaunty strummer. Much much better but still not as good as Bee, and wouldn't do much in the final, it's not that strong a song. Love the vocals though. 7.5/10

Let's hope my knee jerk reaction of 'wouldnt' do much in the final' doesn't come true :heehee: and LOL at 'not that strong a song' - now it's been #1 in my chart for 6 weeks :drama: Just proves how time can (and studio versions) can change your opinion on things :o

 :drama:

Maybe I'll form your opinion - as it's not very good to me? :(

Satellite was eh at first for me. Which persuades me even more that it's the sort of song guaranteed to not win for an AQer...

It had grown from quite good to love in the space of about 5 listens for me, and I've been hooked ever since  Obviously I can see why people would dislike it though, it's quite a simple song in essence and I can see why her voice might rub people up the wrong way.

I still don't see it winning, but then people keep calling Denmark as an alternative and I see that having even less chance of winning

I would guess it's between Azerbaijan and Croatia, but we could see a shock this year :o Belgium or Ireland perhaps? If Norway weren't in such a dire slot I'd suggest them as well - it's incredibly anthemic, particularly on the first listen. I'm cautious to completely rule out Sweden as well, Anna's lighting effect is very powerful, and I reckon she could sell her ballad better than any of the others.

It all depends really - despite last year, the juries are still a ridiculously unknown factor, so we have no idea what to expect!

I wouldn't bet on the public going on exactly what the odds are saying either this year to be honest...

Last year was always going to be the battle for 2nd place, after Fairytale, and I don't think many people expected Is It True? to come 2nd, before seeing Yohanna's stunning performance in the semi - I'd always thought low top ten at best before that moment. So I think it will be easier to make the odds after the semis, although this still won't help us with the 5 AQ's

I can't stop singing this!

It really just HAS to win

Edited by Alex!

I'll finally decide whether I think Germany will win after I've seen their rehearsal. I've only watched a few, but Azerbaijan looks good,

starting on some steps, which light up as she walks down them

And it'll be interesting this year to see whether the public & the juries have different winners, and perhaps a 3rd different winner when combined :o

Indeed, it's not out of the realms of possibility to imagine Satellite topping the public vote and coming 14th with the juries, and vice versa for Denmark or something whilst Azerbaijan come 2nd in both and scoop the victory!

That's exactly how I imagine it :o

"Satellite" is a fan favourite, and seems to be doing well on iTunes - thus, could top the public vote.

"In A Moment Like This" won the OGAE - thus, could top the jury vote.

"Drip Drop" should appeal to both juries and public, and could win when combined, even if they don't win either of the individual jury & public votes.

I would of course start campaigning for the instant removal of the juries if it transpired that Satellite had won the public vote and juries had prevented it from winning overall :kink:

Agreed :kink:

I'm worrying about it now though, cos although it was a grower for me, I remember the last time that I felt this way about a German song, and indeed the last time one was so hyped (I think?) was Texas Lightning in 2006...
