Coronation Street is on on Wednesday.

Well according to the TV Guide it is on twice on Monday (no mention of Wednesday) - but underneath it says 'if football is shown - see alternative schedule'. And the announcer last night definitely said to tune in next Thursday for the next instalment.

Sick of this Football now  Corrie comes first

What happened to that girl David was going out with, the blonde one?

How the hell did David get out with a radiator attached to him??
How the hell did David get out with a radiator attached to him??

I'm hoping that when we get to see the next inside shot of Gail's house - the living room carpet is sodden with the dirty brownish water that would have leaked from the radiator upon it's escape from the wall! Also - why didn't Jason secure the chain in the vice whilst trying to saw through (even though, I'm sure he would have had a pair of bolt-cutters on the premises which would have done the jobe in half the time).

You have to suspend belief when watching soaps - I don't care if it was silly and daft (and unrealistic) as long as it was entertaining and fun .... and it was. Eastenders has made massive bloopers like this before but the fans still enjoy it. It's called 'living in soapland'.

Hands up who missed tonight's Corrie then. I did. :( ITV2 at 11.50 is a bit late so ITV Player tomorrow then.

Steve MacDonald was the biz tonight. Talking to his Action Man! Has he ever won a 'Soap's funniest character' because if he hasn't he should have!

The Peacocks will leave Coronation Street after a child abuse scandal, according to reports.

The Sun reports that the couple, played by Steven Arnold and Julia Howarth, will be accused by Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) of harming their son Aadi.

"Dev and Sunita leave Aadi at childminder Claire's, but when they collect him he has a head injury and is crying," a source revealed. "They rush him to hospital and doctors suspect foul play, so call the cops."

Claire then apparently flees Weatherfield with her son Joshua, returning to beg Ashley to join them. Their name will then be cleared after 7-year-old Simon Barlow takes responsibility for Aadi's injuries.

"She can't believe people could think she was to blame. This will be the end for Claire, Ashley and their sons. And there will be no way back," the insider added.

It was announced back in April that Arnold and Howarth would leave the serial after a mutual decision was made with new producer Phil Collinson.

Leaves the door open for them to return I suppose but still what a rubbish exit for the pair.

I don't care how they go as long as they go. I doubt there'll be any need for them to come back - it isn't as if they are or have ever been remotely interesting.

I really wish they'd kill Hayley off - I can't stand her. And what was she thinking of when trying on Mary's wedding dress? It was awful ... she looked like Eulah Lee from Pigeons From Hell in it.

I thought it was a bit poignant that Rita mentioned Beryl Bainbridge in tonight's episode - Beryl (Liverpool author, comedian and actress) having died just days ago.

Corrie to introduce homophobic character in shocking storyline.

From The People.

Coronation Street will screen its most controversial scenes ever to mark its 50th birthday.

Britain's oldest TV soap will feature an anti-gay storyline involving Ken Barlow, played by veteran Bill Roache.

And it will be a real-life family affair because it centre's on characters played by Bills actor sons Linus and James.

The explosive plot is certain to spark widespread outrage as many homophobic words are used.

Critics have already accused scriptwriters of resorting to deeply offensive jibes to shock fans and boost ratings.

But bosses insist the storyline with film star Linus as Kens homophobic son Lawrence mirrors the real world.

An insider said: Lawrence hates gays and Ken is disgusted by his attitude.

These scenes are explosive, raw and hard-hitting. Viewers, whether they like the language or not, will be gripped. The storyline airs in September, the month Corrie takes over as the worlds current longest-running TV serial drama.

And at the heart of the plot is Ken the Streets only original character and a dark family secret.

When a letter from the 1960s is unearthed during building work, he finds out he has a long-lost son, Lawrence.

Despite opposition from wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) and son Peter (Chris Gascoyne), he tracks down Lawrence.

And Ken is thrilled to discover he also has a grandson, James played by Bills son of the same name.

But Kens dream of playing happy families is dashed by a feud between homophobic Lawrence and gay James.

A Corrie source said: Lawrence is a complete bigot and the language he uses will leave some viewers furious.

Sounds like an explosive storyline and fitting really to involve Ken, the longest serving cast member, as the 50th anniversary approaches.

Totally agree! Are we supposed to care about this daft bint Cheryl? And ... I don't give a stuff about Sean - why don't they let him bugger off to London to meet his sprog and never come back.

We need more Steve MacDonald.
