March 7, 201015 yr Wow, that cover of Britney's Stronger is making my ears bleed. :manson: I couldn't even finish the whole thing. Madonna - American Pie (love Madonna, but that song is awful) Britney Spears - I Love Rock 'n' Roll (again, love Britney, but dislike this song) Kanye West - Stronger Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love (I'm a huge fan of Soft Cell's version and he murdered the song) Celtic Woman - Orinoco Flow (I love them, but their cover has nothing on Enya's version...I can't even get myself to listen to it) I'm sure there are more that I'm not thinking of at the moment. March 8, 201015 yr Rik Waller - I Will Always Love You Will Young & Gareth Gates - Long & Winding Road Gareth Gates - Unchained Melody Mariah Carey - I Wanna Know What Love Is Definitely and even Will refused to put it on his "Hits" album. WILL YOUNG is so embarrassed about his version of the BEATLES’ track THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD, he apologised to SIR PAUL McCARTNEY when the pair met earlier this year (09). Young came face to face with the veteran musician in July (09), when he was made a companion of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts - the stage school which McCartney helped establish in 1996. But the Leave Right Now hitmaker was left red-faced when they discussed his 2002 duet with fellow Pop Idol contestant Gareth Gates, as he thinks the rendition of the song was dreadful. Young says, “I met him (McCartney) recently and he was lovely. And all I could think about was me singing his song The Long and Winding Road. I was like, ‘I’m so sorry. I f**king murdered that song.’”
March 8, 201015 yr I love both the original and Kanye's pilfering of "...Stronger" and Marilyn Manson's covers I find surprisingly bearable! The "You Are Not Alone" cover was far far worse than "Hero" whereas the originals of both songs are pretty poor. However, "Everybody Hurts" beats both of them hands down. And if Cowell even dares to go near "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" again (I fear he'll use it at some stage for a charity single) he deserves his balls ripping off. Limp Bizkit's cover of George Michael's "Faith" amuses me far more than it should but hearing Fred Durst doing "Bittersweet Symphony" (inexplicably without the original's strings hook) makes me cringe.
