Figo head butted someone & he got a yellow!!!!!!!

But yeah it was out of order for what Zidane did. I feel kind of disappointed. Did the Italian called him a frog or a pig?? Is that why he went mad?

Yeah Figo should have been given a red for that but Zidane went for the guy's stomach.

What the fukk was Zindane thinking of???? :o :o I jsut cant believe it, so out of character, he's let his team-mates his fans and the French nation down....

Red card totally justified in my opinion, I cant say on the one hand Rooney deserved it and then say Zidane didn't - violent conduct in both cases.....

And yes, Figo was damn lucky not to get a red as well.....

Italy is the new World Champion :)
OMG I just realised I got my predictions correct at work!!!! Italy winners, France runners up and Germany third!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought France played better tonight but overall Italy were better throughout the compitition. :D

Well done Italy

Well IMO this final will mainly be remembered for the headbutt by Zidane. For a great player that he was he'll be remebered for that, which is a shame, its like Seaman, he was a great goalkeeper but most people remeber him for what happened in 2002 with Ronaldinhio.

Anyhow well done Italy :cheer:

Whats the best Italian game you seen throughout the world cup? Mine is Italy VS USA. The best goal was the Italian player scoring an own goal!!

What a sad end to a career for maybe the best player I ever seen on a football pitch but totally his fault and he deserved a red

I hope he will still be remembered for his genius than for this though

I can only guess that Materazzi made a racist remark to him as I have never seen Zidane react like that before

As for the final it was utter $h!t from what I saw

:(

France, on the basis of that match deserved to win. Italy didn't attack at all for the last hour AND extra-time. Dominech really is a c**p manager, bringing off Henry, possibly your best penalty taker and best player on the pitch for WILTORD!!! WTF ?! I knew Trezeguet would miss his :( But Dominech didn't deserve to win the World Cup, so in a way, I'm glad Italy won on that basis.

Cannavaro and Guttaso were outsanding yet again, Malouda, Abidal & Ribery I thought were awful. No survice to Henry at all. And Zidane, what WAS the point ?

:(

Henry was injured, he was clutching his leg as he sat down on the bench. I don't think the substitution was tactical more a case of Henry was not fit to continue due to injury

Well done Italy :cheer: harsh on France though. :(
Well Maradona is remembered for the hand of god but is still remembered for how great he was too ;) He's my favourite non-Man United player ever (well either him or Ronaldo) and I'll always remember how great he is.

Yeah, I'd certainly rather remember the Zidane of '98 and 2000, incredible; the footballing equivalent of Da Vinci or Mozart..... His skill with a ball was like watching an incredible artist at work.... Magnificent.... That's the Zidane I want to remember... His name translates as 'heavenly one', his football skills most definitely were heavenly.....

Not by me, the Maradonna moment for me is the second goal he scored against England....

Really good end to the World Cup in my eyes. An intense, absorbing last half to the match and some truely EXCELLENT penalties. Luca Toni must be one of the happiest men in the world at the moment ^_^ Materazzi had quite a match as well. Firstly he gives away a penalty, then comes inches within scoring an own goal, then scores the equaliser, then gets the French skipper sent off and then scores a penalty. He looked delighted at the end though  Same for Peruzzi.

I really don't understand what Zidane was thinking though. I would've thought that surely he's professional enough to keep his cool for the last 11 minutes of his spectaculiar career. Clearly not :( It's a sad way to see a legend go out. I'm just glad Cannavaro went out in style. He's the player of the tournament in my eyes.

Great World Cup for me as well. Probably the second best I've ever seen, second only to France '98 :)
