Glad Emilie finally went, I think she did better this week, but was nowhere near good enough to win!

 

My fave is definatley Lauren, she is always flawless imo (and I don't get the arrogance), Steph is getting better and better, Jess really shone this week, I always thought she was a good actress but her voice was great this week also, I really really like Danielle but I think she will be a goner next week, Stephanie is a brilliant vocalist but there is something lacking for me and I don't know what it is, Jenny is really good but again something is nnot connecting with me and Sophie is good but not good enough to win tbh.

I'm not too gutted Emilie left as she wasn't strong enough to win but she was easily the most charming contestant and she wasn't anywhere near as bad as people seem to be suggesting. I really hope she does get that training and goes on to land a decent role because she really will put everything into whatever she does.

 

Steve and Andrew, I can't believe you think Danielle is the best! She's got a very nasal quality to her vocals and there's no character to them either. I actually voted for her two weeks ago when she did the Amy Studt song but it's been downhill from there and I'm pretty sure she'll be bottom two next week.

 

 

If anyone is nasal it's Jenny what a vile voice she's got. I don't see how Danielle is though.

I feel this contest is going to be a battle with Stef and Lauren, for the role of Dorothy

 

Looks like Sophie is bowing out tomorrow, the judges were spot on with the comments on her.

I think after tonight it is clear that the best singer Stephanie (IMO, and the consensus of the bookies/punters), is clearly not the chosen one.

 

It is becoming more obvious than ever that Danielle is the chosen one, with Steph closing in fast.

The weakest tonight have to be Sophie and Stephanie, Bo Jangles is more of a story, she didn't actually tell the story. The others have really upped their performances, I have to say this if Sophie is in the bottom 2 tomorrow with a strong performer ALW will save the strong performer. bye bye Sophie, she seem to have lost her way.

I disagree, I thought she sang it perfectly in the understated manner of the definitive Sammy Davis Jr version. Well done to Charlotte Church correctly calling it. But too many people relate to the over corny Neil Diamond version or worse the atrocious hammy Robbie Williams version from his one terrible album "I'm Minging at Swinging" or whatever it was called.

 

Besides WTF were they trying to do giving a song about an old adult male who has lived most of his life to a 17 year old female, unless it was an attempt to sabotage her because she is probably getting near the top of the votes week in week out (as it is the only thing Liverpool could win this year!), when ALW clearly wants Danielle, Lauren or Steph to win.

Lauren is utterly magnificent. Her expression just captured the mood of the song so completely last night. Jenny I feel is at a bit of an unfair advantage having gone first last week and second this week but she gave her best performance to date. I found it to be quite menacing in parts, certainly it was dark. Steph once again did brilliantly, especially on the choreography front, but it wasn't as great as Use Somebody. Jessica also hit a new peak this week and whilst I don't think she's Dorothy I do think she's going to improve even further.

 

Danielle really is too bland for this competition but to her credit she adopted the persona with ease and displayed confidence, as well as sounding less nasal than in previous weeks. Stephanie doesn't seem to have any grasp of interpretation and can never seem to resist flashing that big smile, even when the song doesn't demand it, as that song certainly didn't. I did like the way she moved - the little tap dance was a lovely touch - and her tone of voice is delightful but she's not an all-rounder.

 

Sophie is way out of her depth now. It's clear watching her that she has to try so much harder than the others and she always sounds strained, and never packs enough punch.

Imma get down to watching this now.

Big Band week is so much better for this show than X-Factor.

 

Steph - Amazing just like last week.

Jenny - Didn't expect that, a massive improvement from all other performance. Completely agree with Charlotte's comments about her sounding different.

Sophie - a pretty weak performance, she hasn't quite recovered from being in the bottom 2.

Danielle - brilliant as always and LLW actually didn't look bored in this performance unlike all other performances :lol:

Lauren - best performance of the night, the contest even, she has to stay.

Stephanie - Why the hell did they choose this for her.

Jessica - well amazing again.
