Posted July 7, 200618 yr Do you deliberately take sickies from work, because you can't be bothered going in. Do you see this as stealing from your employer or not. Your work colleagues would have to cover for your absence, would you care? Sickness absence cost employers £13.2 billion in 2005. Do doctors hand out sick notes like confetti? Apparently the main excuse today is work related stress.
July 7, 200618 yr I came across many cases while in management of people pulling sickies, I personally sacked a number of people when caught them out through various means such as random visit to their home without warning etc, in one case a guy called in sick saying he had a bad back and I randomly checked up on him and his wife answered the door and said that he was gardening, needless to say he had plenty of time to do gardening because I sacked him on the spot, as far as I am concerned sickies are fraud

July 7, 200618 yr I've never had a sickie in my life, apart from when I lost voice, due to a bad cold I had. You need to live on something, what's the point.
July 7, 200618 yr I've never taken a sickie, too much of a guilty conscience, and besides, I'm a terrible liar so I'd be bound to be found out
