Former Take That star Robbie, 36, has admitted he is desperate for the job. Now sources say he is days away from getting the golden contract in his hands after high-level talks. Even punters are backing Robbie, with bookies William Hill making him 2-1 favourite. Current judge Dannii Minogue, 38, was last night forced to deny reports she had been sacked. The singer, who is pregnant with 32-year-old rugby star Kris Smith’s baby, wrote on her Twitter page: “No truth in me being axed at all.” But last night a source said: “Robbie is the number one choice for judge. “His common touch will make him a hit with fans.” Last year, show boss Simon Cowell, 50, said Robbie would be perfect for the panel, which also includes Cheryl Cole, 26, and Louis Walsh, 57. He said: “He’s fun, he’s got good instincts and he doesn’t take himself too seriously.” Last night, Cowell’s spokesman said: “Anything being written about judges at this stage is complete and utter speculation.”
March 29, 201015 yr Author Well if that happens we can kiss bye bye to any end of year tour :( I'd love to see him as a judge though :w00t:
March 29, 201015 yr Well if that happens we can kiss bye bye to any end of year tour :( I'd love to see him as a judge though :w00t: Can you see Robbie sticking to any one thing for more than 5 minutes ( unles she's called Ayda of course  )
March 29, 201015 yr Author Dunno  He does seem kind of hooked on Reality TV so maybe he'd be in his element
March 29, 201015 yr Ill just repost what I said in the news thread :P Former Take That star Robbie, 36, has admitted he is desperate for the job. Typcal 'Star' crap, he said he had no interest in an interview recently. I wouldnt be suprised if he goes a guest spot for the auditions but no way would he be a full time judge. I cant imagine Rob sitting next to Louis bloody Walsh though  Rob can't stick with anything for a long period of time and 4 or 5 months of the XF would be way too long for him and would not be feasible, when he will be travelling around the globe promoting the GH and possibly doing a small tour. He will prob appear as a guest judge and then sing the new single from the GH (I assume there will be at least one new song) in the live shows.
March 30, 201015 yr He's settle-ing ....... *sigh* more telly show thingies and less stage / tour work. Well, that's Life :)))
March 30, 201015 yr I hope this is not true, he is not suited to be a judge and i dont want Dannii to leave.
March 31, 201015 yr Won't be happening according to this: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s103/the-x-...g-x-factor.html Mel B, Robbie 'not joining X Factor' Wednesday, March 31 2010, 11:45 BST By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter Rex Features Simon Cowell has no plans to approach Mel B or Robbie Williams as permanent replacements for Dannii Minogue on The X Factor, a report has claimed. The pair have been linked to the ITV1 reality show several times in recent months amid uncertainty surrounding Minogue's future as a panellist. However, discussing Mel's chances of joining the programme, a source told The Sun: "That ain't going to happen. Mel's lovely but she will not be getting a judging position." On Williams, the insider added: "Robbie will be a guest judge one day but he won't be permanent." X Factor bosses are also expected to rule out having five panellists on the forthcoming series, as was rumoured last year. The source explained: "The fifth judge idea is looking doubtful. The show would get pretty big - and it's already a monster." Reports suggest that Cowell will replace Minogue if the singer does not promise to give The X Factor her full attention when she becomes a mother.

March 31, 201015 yr I know I'm going to regret asking this but why isn't he suited? He's stick out like a soar thumb among moronic fools such as Louis Walsh (who has managed some of the most appauling acts in living memory), Simon Cowell (who is incapable of having acts with a proper shelf-life unless they churn out cover after cover - oh and he is responsible for some of the worst records of the past 20 years)and mimers such as Cheryl and Dannii who have no right to judge peoples live performing - unlike them he would actually be in a position as a global superstar to truly know what it is like and would be a credible judge as oppose to another member of the soap opera that is the XF panel. I personally think if he took it seriously (when isnt possible when dealing with a cheese fest such as a Cowell-made TV show  ) he would be a great judge, but that is exactly why he wouldnt be suited to be a judge ont he XF. He's far too big to be a judge anyway - you either have to have success restricted to the UK only or be a 1 album wonder in the States to work for Cowell  They'd be better off getting Jordon or Victoria Beckham to fill in as they would slot right in perfectly with the other three. I would like him to do a one off though just to see what it would be like - him and Simon get along well and could have some good banter - and make Louis look like the prick he is. Edited March 31, 201015 yr by De Niro

You're wrong however though in saying he'd be a great judge. To be a great judge you need to be impartial ... and not afraid to hurt people's feelings by saying 'look ... you're just crap' ... which let's face it ... a lot of acts on X-F need telling. Simon does it ... but in a crude, snide way which somehow makes him 'funny' and to some people ... the best judge. You need a judge who will tell his/her own act that they are crap when they are. Can you see Robbie being cruel (realistic) enough to do that? Gary Barlow himself said he couldn't bring himself to be cruel (bring a reality check) to acts that were just plain wasting their time. I don't see Robbie being any different ... he'd be too .... nice! X-F needs its own Jason Gardner! In fact ... why don't they ask Jason Gardner. I agree that Rob would be a good one-off judge ... as would a lot of other artists. They need to revamp the show and a guest 'fourth judge' on every show is the way to go. Norma
April 6, 201015 yr Author How many more insults can us Robbie fans take :drama: We don't appreciate 'real' music apparently..... From http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/s103/the...t-a-threat.html Biffy Clyro: 'X Factor isn't a threat' Tuesday, April 6 2010, 11:36 BST By Robert Copsey Biffy Clyro have revealed that they do not see The X Factor as a threat to the music industry. The band, who were recently confirmed to play at this year's T in the Park festival, said that the show is simply entertainment. "It's always just been Saturday night light entertainment - it's for the kind of people who buy Robbie Williams calendars," frontman Simon Neil told the Daily Record. "I don't think it's a threat to 'real' music at all. It's just entertainment. "Simon Cowell isn't the devil. He just wants to make s**tloads of money." Neil also revealed that the band would consider writing a song for the next Twilight movie. He said: "I don't think there's any shame in it - I think Twilight fans are just the sort of people who would have been going to see Bauhaus 20 years ago - but we don't really have any vampire songs right now."
