TV shows have taken "judges" to the extremes. It's bad enough we have to endure Louis bloody Walsh.

You have Alesha Dixon on Strictly; "you were ok but it looked a bit clumsy at times" - then she gives a 9 to the others 5 for example. -_-

You have Emma Bunton on Dancing On Ice; why? When has Emma ever danced on ice?

You had Geri Halliwell on Popstar - The Rivals; "your singing was out of tune". Pot. Kettle. Black, no? :D

TV producers will do anything to draw in the viewers. I'd rather have a genuine judging panal who really know what they're talking about. Sadly they're unavailable (or don't exsist). :P

They are all kinda related to the show they are judging, though. Isn't Louis a record manager or whatever they are called? And Alesha has taken part on SCD, although I must admit that her knowledge isn't as big as Arlene's, and her comments/scoring was rather dodgy. And I think Emma was on DOI more for the dancing bit, as she must've done some dancing when she was in the Spice Girls.

She's judging their dancing, and their performance. There are several judges, each judging different criteria, so she doesn't exactly need to be able to dance on ice. Ruthie Henshall couldn't either by the way...

This would just zap away any suspense of wondering who could win, and who's going out, no? Surely the charts would likely reflect the votes, and therefore make the results show quite pointless. :\

Louis is a great manager and judge. Sure, he can go a bit far...but hasn't he mentored Westlife or whatever for a long time now? How many no.1 have they had??

Louis is an awful judge. He was championing Jedward, and saying they were brilliant when they quite clearly weren't. Plus he's very annoying imo.

That was an awful decision, yes. But that doesn't mean he's awful...he usually always gets the worst group. And he's good manager as well.

Not entirely. All ages of people vote, but people over a certain age probably wouldn't download the performances. And as with American Idol, the songs could be exempt from the chart, and so download sales wouldn't be known.

Matter of opinion :P

No, they didn't sing in tune, they couldn't dance, it was painful to watch.

Well you said they clearly weren't brilliant, not that they clearly couldn't sing in tune. To some people, their routines and out-of-tune singing is brilliant.

Why would people view it as brilliant? You don't listen to music to hear the singer sing out of tune or watch a routine to see them wrong or out of time. It just makes no sense.

Ummm...really hard to answer. I can see your point.

I saw them as good entertainment, and call me crazy and whatever, but I think I voted for them about 10 times one week.

I see what you mean for the entertainment point of view, but I could by far view them more as TV presenters, or something along those lines, as I think they could do a good job of it. But it really annoyed me that Louis Walsh championed them as a good act, and then having the cheek of degrading better singers/performers.

I focus more on the singing and performing when I watch the X Factor, and that tends to shape my votes, but I can understand people voting for them as they like them as entertainment. Maybe it's just me

Do they do this with American Idol already?

Oh lol, it's going to be clogging the charts from Sep. onwards... :P

It's not true :P
