April 11, 201015 yr In the other contests, we've had a surprising showing for the alternative stuff. Not so 2006 - Something Kinda Ooh top 3? Deary me.
April 11, 201015 yr Poor Pipettes :( Oh dear at all the other DNQ's being male acts though. Some great songs there it has to be said - Wonderful World, Last Request, Love Dont Let Me Go, America, Fill My Little World, Chelsea Dagger. 2006 was a good year for some of the non-BJ typical acts it seems. Good (predictable) top 8. Take That and Amy Winehouse have had better songs imo but there you go. Good to see a very underated Kelly song scrape through and Jamelia get some good results, even if Soemthing About You has bizzarely done better than Beware Of The Dog.
April 11, 201015 yr Even though the top 8 is pretty strong, that's a dire set of results. Some brilliant songs missing out because no one who appreciates how good they are bothers to vote. I would have voted if I'd have got round to it but it would have been pointless.

Totally agree, apart from some exceptions, (Muse, Sigur Ros, Snow Patrol) Welcome to the Black Parade and America are better than RED DRESS AND ROCK STEADY!!!   This is really disappointing as the other results have been very credible and mixed

But there was so much better! Knights of Cydonia, When You Were Young and Welcome To The Black Parade are all year-defining classics for me (even if with the last one I hated it at the time) and should have flown through. Oh well, here's hoping for a shock in the final.

Yes, there are mainly very good songs getting through, but some songs that didnt get through were better than some that did (see my example) well, theres always next year :(
April 14, 201015 yr Although very pop qualifiers they all pretty amazing! Good set of qualifiers imo. ^_^
