id rather wait and buy the album in store so the artist can get the reward they deserve for their talent than steeling it off these private sites!!

But sometimes it's a good way to determine whether you'll like the album instead of buying it blindly. The people who do that are people who will buy it but downloaded it because they can't wait, or wouldn't have bought it anyway.

I own and like all 3 Bloc Party albums, so I look forward to seeing what this is like.

If i like it enough - i will buy it. Simple as.

The only exception is my pre-ordered Olafur Arnalds album, it's leaked yesterday, i try to get out of the links to it.

It's not there yet btw :nocheer:

sharing not stealing. these private sites are sharing communities, it isnt some big conspiracy to f*** over artists and break the law, in fact i know for a fact that people from such communities spend far mroe on music (and especially independent artists) than a lot of people who just steal off blogs. its people sharing and PROMOTING music they love.

is listening to an album for free on spotify stealing? no, but does the artist get rewarded for their talent? no. have fun buying Kele's album and giving him a whole 10% of what you spend, all the money from albums goes to the labels and the retailers, unless kele sells a hell of a f***ing lot it isnt going to affect him much finacially. you buying the album you dont get the artist rewarded for what they deserve, you are giving the record label money that they dont deserve. if you want to give Kele the amount of money he deserves, steal the album and send him a cheque because other wise you arent giving him the money he deserves, you are giving a lot less.

most of my mates 'share' online music like yourself but i know for a fact that process is enough for them - they don't follow this on by buying the album when its in the shops (only 5% of buyers do this), so it is steeling imo. as for the amount of money an artist gets in comparison to record companies, the companies get money for the promo they do so the artist has to share his profits.

if you asked kele himself he would rather you buy his album in the shops rather than 'share' it online.look how many music artists were up in arms about their lack of reward from making music because people 'share' it online nowadays!!

if you look through musical history the only artists who rebel against their record companies are the biggest and most well established ones like michael jackson and george michael!!

Trent Reznor released his album for free online, but still put it on itunes, released a (limited by 500,000) CD and also a vinyl, he made more money from that than he has any of his other albums, despite the fact you could get it in any quality for free legally, he made the msot money out of this album because: he did it himself, not through a record label, he didnt even promote the album in anyway, it didnt even sell better than his previous albums, but still he made the money he deserved out of it because it didnt all go to the label, yanno know record companies are so kind taking most the money out of one record for promoting it, you are deluded if you think it's just the artist sharing their profit in return for promotion, the record company takes most the profit and takes ownership of the tracks, the way you speak its like 'and the record compant get a bit of profit because they promoted coz they are nice like that' yeah record companies are so nice, so why did Trent Reznor leave his and started releasing music independently, oh yeah because his record company who were so nice to put copyright on his artistic creations and promote his album, that they also charged over the average amount for an album, and when Reznor saw the prices for HIS album he went to the record company (Interscope) and asked why they were charging so much 'because your fans are stupid enough to pay anything for your music' got to love those record companies, they dont want to screw you and the artists over at all. capitalism is bad newz.

and in reply to "if you asked kele himself he would rather you buy his album in the shops rather than 'share' it online" you clearly didnt read what i said, i said if you DONTATED Kele the money for the album that you steal that he would benefit from that more if you brought the album in shops, if you seriously think Kele gets anything of worth from you buying it in the shop you are clearly a naive idiot who doesnt understand that record companies just f*** everyone over.

hah well if you want to live in a world without record companies then so be it but artists would run out of money very quickly!!

would they though? i think they would gain more money, without a record company that would mean the artist will get 100% of the profit (unless its shared between other people involved, outside promoters etc, but still no record company stealing profits), in a world without record companies, are you saying no one would buy music? everyone would still buy music but instead when buying they arent giving the money to a record company it is going more to the artist, so i dont get by your theory how they would run out of money very quickly.

what about artists just starting out,my mates in a band who are dying to break through and they spend all their money on recording sessions which are a rip off, building up their online fan base and giging like mad which means he has hardly any money at the end of the month.a record deal would just give you that boost of exposure and would help radio play your record etc.

he hates commercial music but admits himself 'i would love just one top 10 single'!!

to be fair starting out is hard enough with record companies about anyway, i agree recording sessions are expensive etc, basically, like all artists need to do these days anyway is to build a fanbase online and do as many gigs as possible, no one magically gets a record deal, the most part record companies create their own terrible acts or making simon cowell find them on a TV show, creative artists these days dont seem to get signed, its far better off building a strong fanbase that will stick by you, give them a reason to go to gigs, give them music for free, and see how much they dontate, i think if you sell your music less people will get it, however if its free (and with a donation option) more people will get your music (and go to your gigs) and are more likely to donate rather than buy it in the first place.

first play of Tenderoni is tonight on Radio 1 on Zane Lowe between 7 and 9, most likely at 7.30.

:w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Will only be able to hear it tomorrow

Another dilemma: should I drop the confirmation and reserve Kele in BJSC or should i not? :kink:

some of the synth parts just sound like loads of things, doesnt sound very fresh, you'll probaly know what i mean when you hear the track.
Sounds like Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah but more tame with some Bloc Party song that I can't make our over the top. Sounds very 2007.
