What I should have put is I miss him in Bloc Party. I am just not enjoying his solo efforts which is a shame :( Maybe in time it will grow

 

Silent Alarm also has 3 other musicians on it.

if people compare this album to bloc party it = $h!t, this album isnt bloc party at all, its a solo project, what people think of bloc party albums and think of this are two seperate entities.

 

What drew me to the last Bloc Party album was as much Kele's melodies as anything else. And I assume he's responsible for the melodies on The Boxer. I've heard three songs and nothing grabs me.

 

I will download it in due course and listen to every track and give each a chance.

 

 

This album grew to be in the 'AMAZING' group now. The brilliance of 'Everything You Wanted' even overshadows the awfulness of 'New Rules' :o

Tis growinggg. 'All the Things I Could Never Say' is now a highlight along with 'Everything You Wanted'.

'Unholy Thoughts' could easily pass as being a BP track, especially something from 'Another Weekend in the City', sounds like a lot of songs from that.

Because they wrote and recorded some of the most amazing music of the 00s. And had the talent to switch genres and excell in both.

 

I listened to Silent Alarm yesterday and it still excites - Pioneers, The Price of Gasoline, Luno...wonderful.

 

I find it difficult to separate their first and third album quality wise - each is littered with classics.

During his Glastonbury performance he said he "used to be in a band". ffs losing repsect for him if Bloc Party never return.

 

 

Oh and I wish they would show some of his set instead of the $h!t they are showing on bbc three right now.

not too amazing live on his own tbh, wont be seeing him at Reading, he is no Cypress Hill.

think it's a great single - but his Glasto performance yesterday was appalling - vocally, he's really not up to a solo career....

i really cant stand the guy n his music anymore.

first album was ok with 3 great songs (banquet , this modern love ,so here we are ) n that s it for me...

All the songs on the first album were very good apart from Blue Light.

I thought all songs were good on Silent Alarm barring 'So Here We Are'.

So Here We Are would be my second least favourite after Blur Light. The riff of Blue Light just gets under my skin.

Yeah, it's by far their worst song from all three of their albums I'd say. 'One More Chance' is a firm second.

I would just like to say. So Here We Are is amazing.

 

 

The Prayer and One More Chance are their worst tracks.

So Here We Are is quite amazing. One More Chance is their 2nd best track after I Still Remember which is like the best song EVER, literally.

So Here We Are is clearly very good and a good deal more sophisticated than the rest of the album. It just doesn't excite me as much as the rest of the album. I'd still put it ahead of a handful of tracks on the second album and before Ion Squared, Ares and Mercury.
