Lauren 2.0's first episode airs on Monday 27th Sept. EXCITING (if only because it means Tanya 'They Bow Down To Her' Branning can't be far behind!).

Tonight's was quite the tearjerker. Babs WAS a lot more restrained this time around, which was good. I liked all the individual goodbyes - cheesy but I think in Peggy's case it HAD to be done. I did think for a minute as she was heading out the door she was going to totally ignore Billy, which would have been horrible but fantastic at the same time.

I guess it very much is a new era in the show - Peggy out, Kat/Alfie in as the new leads :(

I don't agree that Pat's redundant as a character without her; whilst she was at her best with Peggy by her side, I think as long as Janine and Bianca are still on the Square, she'll have things to do.

I agree though that Dot's unlikely to still be around in a couple of years' time. They're scaling back a bit, June Brown's increasingly outspoken about the show, and Dot's very much an isolated figure now - she's not ever REALLY been that integrated in with the rest of the Branning clan like Max or Jack.

Brilliant episode

Welldone to the writer they gave Peggy a good exit

A true soap Legend has gone and it's an End of an Era for EastEnders but im looking forward to the future

I liked the New Julias theme and glad the BBC didn't speak/split screens over it

I enjoyed the exit and the scripts were good but it missed something for me, i dont know what but i think my main fault is peggy leaving like that just isnt the Peggy we have seen for the last 16 years.

I said a similar thing this afternoon. Peggy's been through much worse than this before and it seems out of character for her to leave just because it gets tough. Especially on her own and without ANY of her family.

That said, you can tell the scriptwriters really tried to ram home the important of The Vic and Phil's addiction in all of it to make it appear more realistic.

Ya i could see the direction they were taking with the script and it fitted very well in parts, but i agree peggy has been through worse and she was never one to run away from her problems, family, friends etc.

Its good they have left the door open for her though.

I wonder why they brought sam back though, i was sure she was back for peggys exit and they would leave together.

I think they brought Sam back to tie in with Ronnie and Jack (and cause ruptions for Ricky and Bianca possibly) with the whole babydaddy drama. I read some spoiler for next week about Ronnie

being 'desperate for Sam to leave Walford'

or something so...

Sam's off soon though anyway isn't she? She was only meant to be a short-term return. Maybe Ronnie does get her way next week?

Ugh, Peggys exit was absolutley ridiculous. I just dont understand why she left?! Like someone said, she's been through so much worse and it was ridiculously out of character for her to abandon her family, and the fact she left without Phil it wasnt even properly explained WHY she left? HUGE let down.
YOU BITCH. YOU COW! :D

Thursdays episode was AMAZING. Lacey Turner was quite incredible tbh. I did love Peggy's exit, but just didn't seem right for her :( still v. sad to see her go.

OH, and 'Peggy's Theme' is on iTunes!

I love Sam so much

She cracks me up so much! When Bianca kicked her out the house and she went to Ricky "see you later babe" or something, tottaly hilarious

Love how much it annoies Bianca too!

Ys Shirley was great tonight, im also dying to find out who the father of sam's baby is aswell.

It's

Jack. Just sayin'

Shirley is brilliant. I did feel a bit nauseous though at the sight of Heather and Minty sucking face (yuk). I haven't felt that sick watching a soap since Lewis snogged Audrey in Corrie!

Shirley's house must have a sign outside saying "only come in if you are horrifyingly ugly"

I mean Shirley, Minty, Heather and Phil. The ugliest 4 around town

If that's true, i'm sure Charlie Slater will hitch up

And now Sam could be in there too! I mean ... I like Sam (she comes out with some wicked one-liners ... that actually do make me laugh) but she does have a face like a bulldog licking the pee off a nettle.
