Nor is it the best rock album ever.

The Black Parade is four years old.. By retro do you mean an artist or band who don't record any more or very very old albums?

Nobody said anything when I mentioned Siobhan Donaghy's album and that's newer. People have listed Kate Bush's Aerial, Green Day, Basement Jaxx, Faithless etc.

Just wondering where to post these things.. I know there's a similar thread elsewhere

And what is the best rock album of all time then? :P

'retro' is for music prior to y2k... ten years old... however this isnt that strict as retro artists who release new material can be discussed in here so those artists you listed were already established by y2k and can be discussed. mcr are current in music terms so can be discussed in the indie/rock section. :)

Today.

Very Best Of Dusty Springfield

Greatest Hits - Jim Reeves.

Abba - Arrival

And what is the best rock album of all time then? :P

Off the top of my head... these could be considered (not necessarily my favourites)

Led Zeppelin - IV

Black Sabbath - Master of Reality

Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland

Metallica - Master of Puppets

AC/DC - Back in Black

Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

Guns 'n Roses - Appetite for Destruction

Nirvana - Nevermind

The Who - Who's Next

The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street

The Clash - London Calling

David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust

The Velvet Undergound & Nico

and the list could go on forever

Thanks! I will post here mostly older albums/tracks I've been listening

I do think The Black Parade will be regarded as a classic in the future
